Ya I found it after I got the tire down ... It's hiding behind the the tire hoist access tube and unless you remove the access tube, it's very difficult to see.
I couldn't see the hoist bolt through the spare tire
I saw this on the online version of the owners manual but had forgotten about it until now. Let me go try this although I don't have the wheel blocks but I'll rig something up... Thank you
So since purchasing the my 02 Tahoe over a year ago, I haven't been able to gain access to my spare tire. Luckily (and knocking on a huge chunk of wood right now!!) I haven't needed to as of yet. But in saying that I cannot let much more time go by without being prepared for the day when I may...
All done finally. That was definitely harder than I expected and I thought I had it close as far as installing new parts in the same orientation as previous ones but that was not so ... The drive to get alignment was def a stressful one but now all complete and I don't feel much of a difference...
Bringing this post back from the dead, well really this reply.... I have terrible wind whistle and noticed the top of my driver door is out of alignment and wondered why and how to fix. After reading thought this thread just now I can probably say that the younger gentleman I bought my 02 Tahoe...
Got them out and and back where they belong... And then...... Came across another situation. This time it was a seized caliper slide pin on one of the brake calipers. Dealt with that and am now needing a new set of slide pins. All n all a good day! I took pics but no need to post now but I will...
Yes I'm certain now they both fell in between the spider gears as I pushed the passenger side axle and low and behold I heard the same falling metal clanky sound as with the driver side and I know i saw the c clip on that side of the axle. I guess in hindsight I should have turned the carrier...
Yes I was gonna do bearings but they seemed ok so I just left them alone for now. Plus I don't have a slide hammer or axle bearing puller attachment or whatever they're called. I'm really wanting to get this rear diff leak I've had finally finished. I e tried to seal it up like 4 different times...
This evening I was taking care of my driver side rear axle seal as it's been leaking since I bought my 2002 Chevy Tahoe LT 2WD 5.3. got the carrier pin out along with a one piece bolt, thank God..... And like I said I started with the driver side. After removing brake caliper and rotor, I pushed...
That's some nice glass ... Well I just opened up my liftgate to mess with my rear A/C and I noticed this bullspit. FML I can't win with this Tahoe... I try and treat it right but seems like every time I fix something I turn around to get 2 more things that have failed or are beginning to fail....
I'm not squirrelly on the road and I don't think mine have been changed but I'll look. Truck doesn't ride rough or abnormally in the back at all. But I'll take that info and keep it in mind.
I hope to not have to remove anything that doesn't need to be removed in order for me to accomplish the end goal. I plan on working smart and not excessively hard but sometimes that doesn't always work in my favor. In my research, the center link can stay put and the closest I will get to...
As I was removing the old struts I noticed the passenger side hinge molding was cracking from the glass... I can see it's weak but still usable as of now. I think the new strut actually helps it from breaking now as fast but maybe I'm just living in a fantasy world about that lol... I know that...
Today I replaced my liftgate and rear window support struts/shocks. The liftgate wouldn't fully open all the way since I bought it in Sept. I was always very close to knocking my hard of the gate so it's def overdue. Was also extremely hard to close and the rear window wouldn't stay open so now...
Invaluable pro tip right here.... I'd be lost without these treasures. Thank you sir!!! I will get on this Asap....countdown to battle for me is probably about 2 weeks....
I am currently searching, purchasing and stockpiling my front end suspension parts to tackle this as we speak... It's all getting replaced besides the center link. Didn't look much to that so I sort of just thought that would be unnecessary but maybe someone can explain what I should be looking...
