Hard shift from 1st to 2nd and more

I can’t find a AC Delco one. I installed a duralast one but I ordered a Dorman one today thinking the same thing. Evidently mine is a fairly rare version. It’s 2001 and it’s electronic. It’s supposed to be here in 2 days so I guess I’ll see.

Hard shift from 1st to 2nd and more

I have a question, new thing just happen today. I feel it’s when I’m shifting from 2nd to 3rd and driving easy I get a RPM drop right at the shift. Drops to around mid 500 rpm’s and then corrects itself. Throttle body has new gaskets and a new position sensor installed a few weeks back and has...

Hard shift from 1st to 2nd and more

What’s your opinion on changing it to a Sonnax version and removing the pin with the kit? Or just put the plastic OEM one back?

2003 Chevy Tahoe- Transmission Fluid Change

Coils no, only if they go bad. Hoses and belts yes actually just did them. My round trip with my Yukon to work is 180 miles twice a week all highway and the last thing I want is to get stuck on the highway. I want to make this 22 year old truck last 4 more years and I’m retiring. It only has...

Hard shift from 1st to 2nd and more

Thanks for the info, I’ve done them on cars but never a truck. Weird it felt like 1st to 2nd was firmer as well. They even advertised it as 1st to 2nd as well. I agree on the shift accumulator, I figured try the servo before opening it up.

2003 Chevy Tahoe- Transmission Fluid Change

While the pan is off it’s just a few clips and I have had them fail on two different Camaro’s. No different then changing belts and hoses before they fail to me especially if your in there. I wouldn’t take the pan off just to do a solenoid but why not if your doing a service.

Hard shift from 1st to 2nd and more

The Corvette Servo is also a probable cause and is a cheap easy try. Easy to get to without taking anything apart and is worth a try. I think they are around 60 to 70 complete and is probably a 30 minute job.

2003 Chevy Tahoe- Transmission Fluid Change

I would do a fluid change, filter and new solenoids and of course a gasket. You can find kits that come with everything. It’s a piece of cake.

    Throttle body help (solved)

Sound like you had a much harder experience. I guess I got lucky. The throttle body for mine from what I read was only used 2 years. Another plus besides how great it is running is I used less gas then I normally use for my commute to work. My sensor must have had a crack I couldn’t see but fell...

    Positive remarks

Well after a few maintenance issues I figured out over the weekend I’ll have to say this old girl (2001 Yukon XL 106k miles) is still an absolute pleasure to own and drive. It drives better than my wife’s 2021 Infinity QX60. It still feels like a new luxury SUV and see absolutely no reason to...

    Throttle body help (solved)

Thanks, I removed the entire throttle body this morning when I was trying to diagnose what happen and was amazed at how clean the back of it it was. Funny I’ve always turned the ignition on with it off and put something on the gas pedal to clean them. I usually do it every other oil change. I...

    Throttle body help (solved)

I now know why the door hard to be slightly forced because I had the throttle sensor in wrong. I thought they came at a factory setting but they don’t. I always thought it wasn’t good to push the electronic ones open manually because the PC gets off?

    Throttle body help (solved)

After seeing the position sensor had limits I thought I probably put it in towards the end of the limits and when I pushed the butterfly door open I broke it. When I took it back off you couldn’t tell anything happen to it, looked normal still. I found a duralast one at AutoZone and was aware...

    Throttle body help (solved)

I usually turn the key on not running and press the gas pedal and the door opens so I can wipe it down. I never spray anything inside it. I wonder if I broke the position sensor when the door wouldn’t open

    Throttle body help (solved)

Looking at the position sensor , the old one has limits. I wonder if when I put it in it was at its limit and when I pushed the door open I damaged it? I tried to reposition it this morning but it does the same thing.

    Throttle body help (solved)

When I first changed the When I first changed the TPS the door wouldn’t open with the key on and pushing the gas pedal so I lightly pushed it open and it kinda popped open. When I started it the rpm went to about 3k when I put it back together and the gas pedal didn’t work, then the traction...

    Throttle body help (solved)

It’s almost like the motor that opens and closes the throttle body was stuck. Maybe I broke it when I pushed it open?
