    This truck is incredible

Really glad you’re ok . Life is short and precious . That’s awesome that the vehicle did its job . It’s almost weird to have this arms race of “who has the biggest car “ to protect yourself and your family; shouldn’t have to be this way , but I’m glad that I bought one and hope I never have to...

Threshold for extending an extended warranty

Hi there ! Many apologies if this has been asked before but does anyone know what the threshold date/mileage is for extending and extended warranty ? I have the extension of the limited bumper to bumper manufacturers warranty (it extends the bumper to bumper coverage from 3 years / 36k to 5...

Engine coolant level in surge tank ?

Just a quick update : took the Yukon in to see about this issue again . I had poured dye in the coolant tank a few weeks beforehand . The dealership pressure tested the system for a day , but couldn’t find any leak or dye residue . Basically implying that it was in normal operating specs for...

Recommended warranty that covers emissions ?

Thanks ! Looks like there’s been some back and forth on what the current GM branded warranties cover but I’m not sure if I’ve seen anything definitive on whether they cover emissions on our diesels . I’d love to purchase a warranty for my 22 3.0,Denali . It’s been great this far aside from an...

Recommended warranty that covers emissions ?

Hi all . I was wondering if anyone knew of a VSA warranty that includes coverage of the emissions equipment that was backed by GM I realize that in previous years , there was the GMEPP , but it seems that most of these current warranties are 3rd party backed.

Engine coolant level in surge tank ?

Super helpful ! Yes I’ll try to do my due diligence just in case the dealer is short on qualified techs . When the dye is in the system , do you think a thirty minute drive , then parking it overnight be enough for the dye to manifest itself if there is a leak ?

Engine coolant level in surge tank ?

Thanks so much StephenPT and Steiny93 for your insightful comments . Huge help about the possibilities and how these systems are designed . Sounds like there may be a hose or fitting loose . Will try to get under the car as well with a bright light to inspect myself I’ve sent the vehicle in to...

Engine coolant level in surge tank ?

looks like my coolant level is low again after 5 months . When the dealer looked at it in February , they mentioned that sometimes the factory underfills it , and they didn’t see anything out of the norm . They added a little coolant just short of the seam but it’s been steadily decreasing in...

Engine coolant level in surge tank ?

Thanks for all the info . Looks like I’ll be scheduling an appointment to get it looked it at . I need to get the third row recall done anyways . Last thing we need is for the engine to overheat on a road trip lol

Engine coolant level in surge tank ?

Thanks for the pics and this super helpful ! Your charge air tank seems a little less full than mine . I don’t know much about these systems , but do the two tanks transfer coolant between them , thus the fluctuation in levels ? I just got back home a few minutes ago and noticed that the...

Engine coolant level in surge tank ?

great info ! Given the fact that I checked the coolant level this morning and it was at the same level as in the pic before I started the car (I would assume cold ) , do you think that the fluid is at an acceptable level (below the halfway point seam)?

Engine coolant level in surge tank ?

Hi there ! I’ve had my 22 Yukon xl denali duramax for about 7 months and love it ! I opened the engine bay today to look around and noticed that the coolant level looked a little low in the engine coolant surge tank (about an inch below the big halfway seam) . The attached pictures were taken...

    Seam on lift gate

That’s really cool to see . Always fascinating to see the engineering that goes behind these great vehicles . Can’t imagine the amount of R & D they have to do to make the frame modular and support the trucks with the live axle and the suvs with the IRS

    Seam on lift gate

    It indeed is symmetrical

    Seam on lift gate

Hi there ! We’ve had our Yukon XL Denali diesel for about 6 months and love it! Out of curiosity , does anyone know if this seam has a functional purpose or is it just cosmetic ? At first I thought it was the bottom edge of the lift gate glass , similar to the 3 gen explorers where the lip was...

Where do you get your oil changed?

Thanks for this info ! Changed the oil for the first time a month and a half ago and it was so easy . Simply crawled under the car lol . The only reason it took 45+ minutes was the waste container process and not trying to be an idiot and make an enormous mess :)

Where do you get your oil changed?

Yikes . I usually change the oil myself as it’s really easy to do on this truck and the main factor for me is that my work schedule is always super packed so I do it myself when I have a spare hour of time instead of having to wait a couple of hours for an oil change (I previously had a few...

Yukon Denali Duramax - Is it slow?

That was a great and really enlightening read . It’s also great that they used this opportunity to give it a hp boost . The Lm2 I’ve had for 6 months is fantastic and its encouraging that they’re already evolving the design

Yukon Denali Duramax - Is it slow?

Yes , it definitely feels a little slower to accelerate from a standstill than the 4.6 in the GX . Once it gets to approximately 40 mph, the 3.0 has the upper hand and it accelerates effortlessly. The GX has a good amount of torque but at 40 plus mph the 3.0’s torque advantage is apparent...

Yukon Denali Duramax - Is it slow?

Wow that’s some really great insight ! I love the LM2 in my Yukon but it’s really interesting to see actual feedback from someone that has driven the new Duramax as well . Makes you wonder why changes were made to a relatively new engine . Besides the obvious horsepower increase , wonder if they...

Yukon Denali Duramax - Is it slow?

Similar observations here in terms of the slower acceleration from a stop . Previous suv was a 2016 Lexus GX 460 that felt slow , and the Yukon feels even slower from a standstill , however I knew that going in and still love it . At 40 mph though , acceleration is a breeze and it feels strong...

    Midlothian to Possession

My dealer said that orders before the “bump” in price due to inflation , would have their original msrp honored due to the “gm price protection plan” . Unfortunately I would have to initially pay the inflated price, but a check for the difference would be mailed to me from the dealership

    Midlothian to Possession

I see the same thing. The number of diesels in the Detroit area has jumped way up in the past couple of Days. Wonder if there was a sudden surge of produced chips that were missing in the diesels .

    Midlothian to Possession

Does yours have a sticker ? My vehicle has been shipped and is in Indianapolis almost to its destination Michigan and should be there by next Monday , but has never once appeared on the dealer or gmc site ever. It’s like it doesn’t exist . If I type in the vin in the gmc site it gives no...

    Midlothian to Possession

Yup , someone way back in this thread said his starting shipping a month after the sticker became available . Mine took roughly 3 weeks after sticker produced until it started moving
