Morimoto XTR LED Reverse Light Install

After looking at various ways to add an extra reverse light, I bought the Morimoto XTR LED Reverse Light. It mounts at the top of the rear plate using the upper licence plate screws. It was $107 CAD. This is how I did it and I'm sure there's probably a better way. Hopefully, this may help...

I do have a good fuse there.

    2014 PPV Trailer Connector

It took me a few minutes to realize there's a clip in that notch that has to be released first. In any case, I can't find voltage to any of the pins when it's running with lights on etc. Maybe tapping into the reverse wire in the taillight is a better way to go.

    2014 PPV Trailer Connector

I'm looking into adding some reverse lights powered by the trailer connector. However I can't get the cover off the connector hanging by the rear bumper. I tried turning CCW and pulling on it to no avail. I want to check if there is voltage to any of the pins before I order a trailer pigtail...

What did you do to your NNBS SSV/PPV today?

I gave the front seats and steering wheel a good cleaning. Yuck. Should do that more often.

Another water leak on driver's side

Upon closer inspection of the spotlight hole I see a problem. I'll seal this up better and cross my fingers.

Another water leak on driver's side

I did some leak prevention last year and things improved. However I got in the other day and found water dripping from my hood release lever. The only place I think it might be coming from is a cut in the door weatherstripping near the spotlight hole. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

2014 PPV - Belltech 25004 strut replacement parts list

I wanted to keep mine at stock height so I can't comment on lowering. For stock height Belltech said to purchase 25004 struts for the front and 2412FF shocks for the rear.

2014 Tahoe PPV - Parking brake pedal hard to release

That worked. I'll have to be more careful. Thanks.

2014 Tahoe PPV - Parking brake pedal hard to release

So I'm having a heck of a time with my 2014 Tahoe PPV parking brake. I can set the pedal and it works fine but when it comes time to release it, no matter what I try, I have to push it all the way to the floor with great force before it will release. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

2014 PPV - Belltech 25004 strut replacement parts list

It's great. I can't compare it to the original struts because they were shot from Day 1. The rebounding is gone so I don't have to slow down on bumpy stretches of road any more.

2014 PPV - Belltech 25004 strut replacement parts list

Yes, I kept the stock height. The Belltech instructions said to use 6 rings. We did some measuring and it looked like 5 was closer. I called Belltech tech service and they said to use whatever looked best.

2014 PPV - Belltech 25004 strut replacement parts list

I decided to replace my original 2014 PPV struts. I was getting some unpleasant rebounding after bumps and they were rusty as heck. Here is a parts list for anyone looking to do the same thing. (The springs weren't replaced) Struts - Belltech 25004 - 5 rings matched the original ride height...

    2014 PPV/Hello Everybody :)

I couldn't find a jumpseat/console base for my 2014 so I used some flat steel strapping with holes in it and made 4 "legs" to go down under the inner seat bolts. I'd never use it as a seat like that but the console is solid now. Details in a previous post...

Front Struts - Monroe vs Belltech

Hi. So my 2014 PPV has some front end rebounding after bumps. Looking at the service records it looks like the front struts have never been replaced. It has 245,000 km on it. I'm planning on replacing the front struts, mounts and perhaps springs. The strut options seem to be the Belltech 25004...

    Cabin Air Filter Retrofit

Mine already had the retrofit and the existing filter was nasty. I took a toothbrush to the evaporator and got all kinds of crap cleaned out. After putting in a new notched filter I had probably 3x the airflow.

2011 Tahoe SSV installed jump seat console

I checked at my dealer and the jumpseat console mounting frame is not available separately. I ended up using flat strip steel with holes in it. It was thin enough to be able to bend. After cutting off the back section of that cover I made cardboard templates to get the approximate leg length...

2011 Tahoe SSV installed jump seat console

Excellent info. I'm doing the same thing this weekend. Except my console came with no mounting legs so time to MacGyver something to hold it down. I won't be using it as a seat. Thanks.

    Different front wheel bearings

So I had my tires changed the other day and it seems I have a 4WD bearing on the left front and a RWD bearing on the right front. I had noticed that they looked different but never made the connection. It drives fine, are there any drawbacks to this setup? It 's a 2014 PPV and I'm always...

Fan running full speed, low airflow. 2014 PPV.

I gave the evaporator coil a brushing with a toothbrush and a lot of dirt fell out the bottom. I'm thinking it must have been from before the filter was installed.

Fan running full speed, low airflow. 2014 PPV.

I took a look at the service records and found a cabin air filter change. Sure enough the previous owner had put in the cabin air filter mod. They just hadn't changed it over the last 4 years. The tabs broke off and I had to pry it out of there but the air is moving as it should now. I'll give...
