    Sick 6L80 Transmission - P0700 & B2AAA, P0741 & B2AAA - Resolved $$$

Hi @RobH with the torque converter GM included, do you know if it's the same OEM torque converter, or is it an upgraded one with a billet cover? Thanks.

    Transmission replacement costs?

@Madcircle, I'm in San Diego too. Which shop did you take your car to, if you don't mind me asking? I don't have any problems...yet, but I like to prepare for what seems like an inevitable decline.

    Kirkland Oil On Sale

Interesting! Please share your results when you get them back, if you're comfortable doing so. Never knew such a service existed. I went on their site to order my free test kit. Thanks for the tip.

    Kirkland Oil On Sale

Interesting. What does it mean to "get an oil analysis"? By the way, I've been using Kirkland oil for about the last 3 or 4 oil changes, so that's my vested interest.

    Snow cables

Good to know - thanks. My DIY skills start and end with changing my oil, so I'm always on the lookout for reputable shops.

    Snow cables

Nice! Do you have any shops in the county you trust to do any/all kinds of work on your Suburban?

    Snow cables

For my OEM 22" wheels, I too have Security Chain Company's cables. Specifically, I bought SZ451 and verified they actually fit. Haven't had to use them in snow, but they fit and clear the brakes.

Do you get what you pay for in Tires

Supposedly, Michelin did confirm. Check this post (#10) out: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/difference-in-michelin-tires.126460/post-1569690

Do you get what you pay for in Tires

Sorry, I wrote "Goodyear", but I meant what you said - Bridgestone. But yeah, they had the latitude to immediately adjust/apply the promo towards my desired brand. Not surprising given the establishment.

Do you get what you pay for in Tires

FYI @MoonTruck, Costco pretty much alternates between $150 off Michelin and then $150 Goodyear. But as timing would have it, I needed new Michelins during the period when only the Goodyears were being promoted. So I just asked the tire shop if I could get the $150 off Michelin deal instead, and...

    Second row cup holders

Are you on this 2015-2020 Model Year Tahoe forum on Facebook? I think that crowd would go bananas over your creation.

    Second row cup holders

At $5-$10 margins, I agree that it'd be a significant investment of time and resources - I wouldn't do it, hahaha! Regardless, I'm glad you were able to fab something so awesome for your YXL!

    Second row cup holders

I imagine you are about to receive a LOT of order/purchase requests @Bhicks - get ready. That looks about as OEM as it can get! Nice job! **chef's kiss**

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Got the set of Michelin X LT A/S (i.e. Costco-exclusive Michelin Defender) installed to replace the OEM Duelers, and a suspension alignment. Don't see any night-and-day level difference, but admittedly, my butt-dyno is not very refined at all. On a related note, I didn't realize Costco has DIY...

Do you get what you pay for in Tires

He's referring to the Costco-exclusive Michelin model, which is the Michelin X LT AS. As (supposedly) confirmed by Michelin, they're identical to the Defenders.

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Took my new-to-me 2018 that I bought in FEB 2021 to the snow (Mt. Laguna) for the first time. No real issues, but the original Bridgestone Duelers it came with (currently have 43k mi) are past their end-of-life date, for sure. The front passenger tire is practically bald, but still no real...

In The Market For 2015-2019 Tahoe LTZ or LT

You have no idea how mechanically uninclined I am. Swapping my low beams, installing my catch can...those were practically acts of God, hahaha!

In The Market For 2015-2019 Tahoe LTZ or LT

Sorry, no input to offer there - I left the fogs OEM because I never even turn them on. On my old car, I was able to leave them on, so when the headlights were on, the fogs were also already on, but since I have to manually toggle the fogs each time in the Tahoe, I never end up using them.

OE Roof Rack Cross Rails Question?

Oof, that's a bummer @Outdoorsman73. Being that they're used, is there any possibility that they're warped/compromised during use by its previous owner?

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

@Cody W, can I ask what the purpose was for deleting the grille shutters? Did it have to do something with being able to fit that light bar in there? Speaking of grille shutters, I haven't seen what they even look like - I imagine they're some sort of GM mechanism intended to boost fuel...

Anyone look at jumping to the new platform or you waiting?

Exactly. Aside from all the first-model-year issues it's suffering from, all three look like minivans from the side/profile. The word "neutered" is what keeps coming to mind when I see them on the road. It's like a minivan masquerading as an SUV.

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Well, I had a chance to check out the change in quality/lighting/resolution. It might be marginally better at best, but at least it doesn't appear to be any worse off. I'll chalk that up as a win, hahaha.
