Start Towing with 114K miles on my Yukon?
We’re actually headed back home with our tow setup which is similar to yours. It’s a 22’ with a max weight of 4,800 pounds. Our suburban is a 12 with the factory tow package as well but I swapped in some 4.11 gears after pulling it one time with the 3.42 factory setup. So far the factory cooler...- EastTexan

That was in John Tanner state park near Carrollton while visiting the in-laws. We’re currently up in Virginia after a few days at Pigeon Forge. Yes that’s in 5th. If I run about 2700 it’ll hold speed a lot better but I don’t like the idea of pulling our camper in the 70’s even if it is under 5k. Besides I ain’t in a hurry on vacation.- EastTexan

It has the factory cooler but I’d never dream of towing the max rating(8k) it has unless it was just a few miles. We’re gonna take I75 the majority of the way up to Pigeon Forge. We usually take the mountain pass but not gonna do it towing unless I had too. it’s the 6 speed trans. and some 5...- EastTexan

After picking up our new camper with the factory 3.42 gear set I swapped in some 4.11 gears. With the 33’s and towing 65mph it hangs right around 2500rpm and holds speed pretty good on hills. Currently in Georgia but headed up to Tennessee Saturday so we’ll see how it does on some steeper...- EastTexan

GMT900, Anyone overlanding/offroading these?
Not Tahoe driver but have a Burb for our trips off road. It’s not a mud rig but the wife wants to run M/Ts vs A/Ts so that’s that lol. It’s lifted 3.5” with 33x12.5. Rides great and handles good on road and gets the job done off-road. Plus we have a small camper we pull sometimes for any trips...- EastTexan

Thanks, we currently use the 12 (4X4) for vacations up north in the cold months, and surf fishing trips. Currently looking to see what transmission upgrades I can add to extend the trans life. It has the towing package with 3.42 gears but we plan on getting a small camper (3,000 to 4,000lbs.)...- EastTexan
