    Oil consumption between changes

Frankly, it seems unacceptably high from my point of view (although I suspect your dealer would tell you it is within spec for now). I haven't read about oil consumption issues with Amsoil products, but I don't go to a lot of other forums. I will say that a long time ago, I used to road race...

2021 Denali - lifter replaced now camshaft

Frankly, from what you describe, it sounds like your dealer actually doesn't know what they are doing. Based on what you describe, it sounds like they did something wrong with the first lifter swap (like maybe using the old lifter trays or even aftermarket lifter trays, perhaps to get you out...

    2021 Tahoe 6.2

My 2021 Sierra AT4 does the same thing, all quite normal. These things start spooling up as soon as you open the drivers door and spool down pretty long after you shut the engine down. Heck, even my 2007 Yukon starts spooling up when the drivers door is opened, I can hear the CD reader in the...

Tech 2 Scan Tool - Clone - SOLD

I am selling my Tech 2 Clone. This unit includes the Candi interface unit, a 12V cigarette lighter power cord, a 120v power supply, various ODB adapters. etc. This unit will interface with Tahoe, Suburban and Yukon models between 2007 and 2013 and contains GM firmware 33.004. I bought it new...

What oil brand & type is GM putting in our 5.3L SUVs?

The same analysis (wish I could find the link), rated the Walmart Supertech as equivalent to the Kirkland. When I looked at the individual line items, they were almost identical, close enough I suspect they are the same oil from Warren with just different labels. The Amazon Dexos Synthetic was...

What oil brand & type is GM putting in our 5.3L SUVs?

I agree. I saw a report done by one of the oil analysis companies on the product Warren Distribution makes for Costco's Kirkland Brand. It is on par with any premium brand available today. I used Valvoline Synthetic and WIX oil filters (actually Napa Gold, but WIX nonetheless) for decades. I...

    2022 Z71 Suburban 6.2L bent lifters

On another board a guy who works at the Tonawonga Engine assembly plant (and also owns a 2021 Silverado with a DFM engine) was the first guy I saw who posted about the bad batch of lifters and the cut-off date. He went on to post how to tell if the engine was built in the window of where the...

Anyone Having Repeat Issues With A 2021 Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade After Replacement Of ALL Lifters?

Lifter trays are one of the most critical elements. One of our most experienced and knowledgable members decided he was going to delete his AFM system (earlier model year Denali) and replace it with conventional lifters (non AFM) and a cam that work with the conventional lifters. The retailer...

2022 Yukon XL V8 vs Diesel

Here, Premium is almost always less than Diesel and the upcharge for Premium is rarely more than 10% over regular, usually less than 10%. I think if people shop around they can get the difference down to maybe +5% for Diesel over Premium, but if you just pull off the highway it might be as much...

    2021 Yukon AT4 - air ride issues?

Very strange, as they look folded up, which would be the right position when all 4 doors are closed. Does the step motor just keep running after the doors are closed?

Swapping exhaust on a Denali 6.2: who here kept their old one/how?

Understand, but I think I will just stick with the stock unit. It doesn't sound quite as nice as the Borla Touring, but it is fine. I drive like granny anyway. :)

    2nd time Lifter Failure... 2021 Yukon AT4

There is a pretty good possibility it is, but the only way to know for sure is the engine build date. It is on a sticker on the back of the driver's side cylinder head in julian date format. It contains the alpha code of the factory that built the engine, the shift it was built on, the Julian...

Swapping exhaust on a Denali 6.2: who here kept their old one/how?

Thanks for chiming in, hearing people mention the drone on the GM Performance exhaust (everything I have read also confirms it is the Borla Touring) pretty much puts the nail in that coffin for me. I guess I wasn't all that good a candidate for an aftermarket exhaust afterall. :)

    2nd time Lifter Failure... 2021 Yukon AT4

Good luck. Whatever the issue, it shouldn't take long for a tech to determine what the problem is, hopefully it won't be anything that entails backordered parts. ;)

    2nd time Lifter Failure... 2021 Yukon AT4

Two weeks to get them to look at it is terrible. I think I would complain to the GM Regional folks just about that alone. That is a terrible standard of customer service. If you kept OnStar, you can call them and they may be able to read any codes that have been set. A P030X, with X being...

Faulty Lifters took out my Escalade 2021 - 2 Trucks Down and Need advice

My local dealership had a bunch of the 2021 lifter replacements. They had one customer who bought a slug of early 2021’s for a fleet right smack dab in the middle of the bad lifter window. They learned alongside GM as they went, first replacing just the failed lifter, then doing a bank at a...

Faulty Lifters took out my Escalade 2021 - 2 Trucks Down and Need advice

If you ask the service advisor that is handling your truck's issues for the number of the regional GM rep, he/she will give it to you. At least my guy did when I had an issue with stuck rings on my ‘07 Yukon. I agree with Snowbound that there are a few excellent non-OE manufacturers who make...

Swapping exhaust on a Denali 6.2: who here kept their old one/how?

Which Borla did you put on? Does your Denali have all the other valve gadgets inline to control sounds pulses? I love the sound of the Borla's, the thing that has kept me from pulling the trigger is various impressions of drone before and after, etc. Mainly what the interior sound level and...

Swapping exhaust on a Denali 6.2: who here kept their old one/how?

Yeah, that is what most seem to do and it seemed that the issue was the hump that goes over the axle is the problem. There did seem to be some difference in the Borla instructions when it came to their louder systems (ATAK and Type S), where they don't say to cut behind the muffler, but I could...

Swapping exhaust on a Denali 6.2: who here kept their old one/how?

These were not muffler swaps. They were clips of guys installing the Borla Touring (or GM Performance exhaust, which is the same exhaust) which are cat back systems, on 2021 Silverados and Sierras. One I watched mentioned that the Borla instructions state to cut the pipe after the muffler to...

Swapping exhaust on a Denali 6.2: who here kept their old one/how?

Got it. It must be a little different on the pickups, as every video on Youtube I have watched, they cut the tube somewhere past the muffler (a few cut it on both sides) when removing the stock exhaust. It looks like it has to do with getting the tube that leaves the muffler out as it goes...

    Baiting GMC Dealer

It would have been definitely an ordeal had I needed to be back at work, home for the kids, etc. Also, I think with the more sleazy type dealers, they count on it becoming an ordeal so people will just agree so they can get out of there. In my case, I am retired and old (meaning have seen...

    Baiting GMC Dealer

It also could be that the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing (mostly). I recently bought a 2021 Sierra AT4 6.2L. I had decided to start looking for one a while earlier and put a screen/notification into a couple of the internet crawlers, looking for one locally. It didn't...
