So passing the 1 year mark on my SLT and thought I’d take a look through the forum. I was an avid forum user the first 6 months and thought it was just a matter of time until I experienced the faulty lifter issue. Knock on wood, I have not had any major issues through 18k miles despite 6k miles...
Hi, towing 5500 lb travel trailer with 720 lb hitch of weight before adjusting distribution hitch. All weights under Yukon rated capacity. Using Anderson weight distribution hitch, able to move 100 lbs to front axle, 100 lbs to trailer, so 200 less on rear axle. Yukon definitely sags in the...
Yukon SLT purchased off lot Dec 1. 5500 miles, a round trip from Mi to Fl and pulling my camper to West Virginia next week. No issues other than replacing windshield fluid pump. Love it!
I ordered and installed weathertech front and rear. Easy to install using existing hardware. Haven’t been out in bad weather yet to grade how well they minimize backsplash.
FYI. I just ordered Weathertech mud flaps for my 2021 Yukon. In the order form they ask if the running boards are stationary or retractable. So I guess they make both.
I think it also includes the heavy duty transmission cooler? Which is probably a must-have if you are towing long distances and through higher elevations.
We went from an ‘11 Expedition to a ‘21 Yukon. We too compared the Yukon to the Tahoe (and the Expedition). But ultimately decided on the Yukon because...... my wife doesn’t like the Chevy logo! Ridiculous I know. In any event, we are loving the Yukon. Despite many of the negative issues you...
We’re all speculating on how widespread the valve issue may be and it will be interesting to see solid data on the failure rate. Until then, we’ll need to rely on these forums to read about issues and if/how they were resolved. its human nature to post about issues (again and again) vs posting...
Thanks for the explanation! That supports what I’ve experienced: left yesterday from northern Mi to KY. Outdoor temps 0-25 with snow. All heating accessories on, battery was a constant 14+. Today in Alabama, outdoor temp 60, minimal accessories on, battery gauge at 11.5 - 14. Thought for sure I...
On a long trip Mich-Florida with my ‘21 SLT Yukon. Didnt notice this yesterday, but today the battery gauge within seconds will bounce from 11.5 to 14+ and then back to 12. I called my service guy and they told me that is normal with this variable alternator. Anybody else experience this or are...
Quick follow-up. Service is telling me after disconnecting battery during service, it may require some drive time to get battery voltage back up. Apparently vehicle won’t allow auto-stop until battery is at full voltage. We’ll see!
Hi - here’s a weird one. Picked up my ‘21 SLT Yukon (2500 miles) from GMC service dept, was in for the airbag switch recall and replacing the window washer pump. Driving it home I noticed the “auto stop” is not auto stopping! Tried several times and sat for over 2 minutes with no stop. Prior to...
Quick FYI. Dropped off my ‘21 SLT Yukon to have the recall notice fixed, and while driving through the sleet attempted to use the washer fluid on the rear window. No go. I’ve had it two months and had never tried that function. I mentioned it to the service tech, and they called back that the...
Yep. I recently let my 1 month free onstar expire on my ‘21 Yukon. Just got my promo code from Costco (35% off) and am considering adding it back. One thing I can’t tell is how long the discount lasts (1 month, 1 year?)
Thanks SADude and Paul Steele III for the favorable comments. I too have a new 2021 Yukon (SLT) with about 2000 miles and no discernible problems. I have a long trip coming up and I get a little freaked out reading about some of the issues others are having. I tend to agree that folks more...
Just another data dump - just completed a 1300 mi round trip Traverse City to Minneapolis. Drove 85% highway, also hit snowstorm where I was traveling 20 mph in 4WD for 100 miles on I-94. Bottom line showed 19.6 mpg with the 2021 SLT 5.3 engine. Total vehicle mileage is now 2100 miles.
I agree you get used to it pretty quick. We traded a 2011 Expedition for a 2021 Yukon SLT. Have had it a month. It sits higher than the Expy and is a tad longer. Drives like a dream and is very maneuverable. Yesterday drove from northern MI to Minneapolis, 650 miles with the last 100 miles in...
