I got my Z71 Tahoe in October and I like it a lot. I did have to take it to the dealership twice for an Air Bag light but that’s common for a first year vehicle. They look great, rides awesome but the interior is the best part. I would recommend paying more for the 360 camera ;)
It looks like the non-Z71s have functioning vents. You’ll have to remove that duct to see what the vent bezel looks like. And I just bought 6 “L” braces from a hardware store and made my brackets.
RC gives you a decent wiring harness. The Tahoes’s firewall looked too crowded up to go through so I ran the wires down the fire wall and went though a plastic plug under the driver’s side carpet. And I put the switch where the card holder is on the dash.
I used RC’s 8” LED bars with DRLs. I cut out the black part of the bumper with the fake vents. I’m not sure if non-Z71s are the same. Made a bracket and bolted it up to the headlight mounting bracket.
There’s plenty of room. I just zipped tied the resistor to the wire loom. Reverse lights don’t stay on very long so there shouldn’t be a problem with them getting too hot.
I bought some LED reverse lights off of eBay that included resistors that work! The first set resistors I tired must of been too small. The LEDs are pretty bright too.
Has anyone had any luck with a Bulb brand that works?
I’ve tried LASFIT’s CANBUS free bulbs..Check Lamp popped up. So tonight I spliced in Resistors and the warning popped up again..
I’ve had my 21 Tahoe for 11 days now and there’s 200 miles on it. I was messing with the seat and steering wheel today and the “Service Safety Restraint System” popped up. It comes and goes every couple minutes..
I’ve read all the posts on here. So it’s either the driver seat harness/connector...
