did you replace the 1234 drum?
Usually that drum cracks and you can't see it, or it's that piston.
was this the original failure for the transmission as well?
I won't buy plugs online unless they are from a seller that I know verifies it's sources.
Summit racing is good, Jeggs, otherwise I go to the local auto parts store for that stuff.
I got burned once, that was enough.
Check the grounds.
I had one go bad that looked fine, but cutting back the insulation showed me corrosion.
With that one the dash would light up like a christmas tree, engine would stall or lose power.
And it only happened after I drove through a mud puddle and while I had the AC on full blast...
I don't remember the size, but there is also one right above the starter (if memory serves me)
Otherwise you will have half of a block full of coolant.
When refilling, be careful of the thermostat.
if it's not one of those that have a little valve built in, they will trap air and not let it...
I did it on my old zr2 blazer, same design as our trucks.
It was easy, i just used some fine grit sandpaper to clean up the axle shaft before reinstalling.
The axle shaft it self all depends on the wear since bearings ride directly on the surface.
Disassembly was easy, i used a magnet tool to...
Made any enemies?
:jester:
Not saying I ever had the thought or anything, but you can buy that stuff in Jars. :angels2:
I play a lot of "If, then How?!" games with myself.
I'll also note that if you start hearing the compressor too much, you can add more pag oil after the charge with it filled with refrigerant.
The sound it makes can be a sign that there isn't enough oil...
but it's more of a "feel the force" type of a thing for me as a novice.
I used one of...
If you just changed one part out, drain the oil from the old part for the "balance".
The way it works is to follow the capacity for that part per the chart, but if the oil drained exceeds the amount they recommend that you add that amount back.
Pag 46 if i remember correctly.
I have the ac...
Winch options?
Having a winch on my jeep has been so convenient, just dealing with shit on my little piece of worthless desert it has been awesome.
Add that i stand a better chance of not being stranded out in the middle of nowhere makes it even more enticing.
I thought about adding a front...
Anyways, I'm pacing myself with $$ for right now.
While I really want the jeep back and running at 100%, I also have that boat that has a little higher priority right now.
My in-laws are already making plans for it this summer, so it gets resolved first.
I'm kind of leaning towards paying the...
For the Jeep, I also have two soft tops.
The first one that I ran over the summer, slant back and the top worked out to be a really solid "bikini top"
This is the only picture I have on my computer with it, full sides on.
I think it will look better with the bigger tires, but it wasn't bad...
I almost forgot about the body damage in the rear.
When I bought this the driver side tailight had been pushed in, a common thing.
The challenging part was the body lines were pretty much gone.
the paint was also pealing from the damage, and some surface rust had already started.
So that...
Then at the end of september of 23, right before fall and before the wife and I could get out to enjoy the fall leaves in the Jeep.
and a Day before I was headed out to pick up the islander!
The wife told me "maybe this is a sign to not get the boat"
Of course, my logical answer: "well then the...
also forgot to mention the infamous Jeep death wobble.
This jeep had it bad.
Cause was both track bar mounts had become egged out.
Allowing the front axle to do the crazy wobble feature.
Luckily, I have someone that was able to fix it for a couple hundred bucks.
I also needed to replace the front bumper as it wasn't straight.
I ended up scoring a really nice winch bumper second hand, but new in box.
Quadratec brand.
Under $200!!
then I had to fill the big empty hole with something, so a winch found it's way via amazon.
Xbull brand with a 12,000lb...
another "Feature" of this jeep was an absolutely trashed interior.
If I were to guess, the top was off or the windows down.
And some birds had a party.
The carpet and drain plugs were also missing.
A bit of gear oil had also spilled in the back, so it had that wonderful smell...
Once she...
I haven't updated this in some time.
The Tahoe is doing well with the 6.0 and the transmission.
I still want to replace the lifters one day, but it's good enough for now.
The Tahoe really moves with the new setup!
I have been running some "cheap" 15w40 oil, that resolved some of the lifter noise...
website for turnone incase anyone is curious.
https://turnonesteering.com/
Luckly I can live with having my tahoe down for a few weeks.
The real pita was making my own box for shipping, hopefully they made it easier.
Also google them, tons of articles about their work.
when it comes time...
