Replacing Rack and Pinion Mounting Bushing

I've been working on my YouTube channel lately, and forgot I made and posted this video on how to replace the Rack and Pinion Mounting Bushing on our trucks (Yukon, Tahoe, Escalade, Sierra, Silverado, Suburban, etc). Well, it has gotten over 9,000 views so far, so maybe people appreciate it! I...

    Catalytic Converters

Hey All, hope things are good! I have a 2008 GMC Yukon Denali, bought it with 72k miles on it 4 years ago, and it now has 101k miles. During the 1st 3 years of owning it, I got a p0420 and p0430 code 3 times (once a year). I ran a cat cleaner through it, and it cleared the codes for about a year...

    Nicks on new rotors

Thank you all for your replies. I'll definitely call for a discount. And I'll definitely YouTube runout and perform the checks for it!

    Nicks on new rotors

There is another similar nick above the obvious one, lighting in garage was just not very good to capture it. I appreciate your response, it was reassuring. They are centric c-tek rotors.

    Nicks on new rotors

Hey all, I'm installing new rotors on my truck. I just received the rotors, and found these small nicks. Is this a concern, or just a normal machining inconsistency?

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yeah, certain all-terrain coopers made the past few years got recalled recently; mine were Cooper Discoverer ATS3's.

    Vibrations at idle

2008 GMC Yukon Denali, 6.2 L, 95k miles. I've not done a compression test. The vehicle runs awesomely, besides that slight engine vibration at idle/park. I decided to stop worrying so much about it; it has never given me actual driveability problems. I only posted my response to support the...

    Rough idle

    Vibrations at idle

My engine vibrates a bit at idle and in park. I've done quite a bit of investigating, and have done complete tune ups and changed the motor mounts. It still vibrates a bit. Engine idle is steady 500-550 rpm. I think it's normal, at this point.

Best Place To Jack Up Engine

Hey brother, did you remove the steering linkage on the driver's side? And you were able to separate the old mount while it was under the engine?

Best Place To Jack Up Engine

Hey Bfourman, can you explain how you set up/used the ratchet strap to gain some clearance? Thanks!

    Drivers side motor mount replacement.

Old thread, I know... But how did you support the engine from the top? Did you need a hoist? Thanks! Kevin

Best Place To Jack Up Engine

There are actually spots cast into both sides of the engine block that protrude out specifically for this. Dang, I have power steering cooler lines blocking that tab, and the passenger side looks like almost no access to the tags without removing a bunch of stuff...

    Broken Motor Mounts

Yeah I can't help but peel out in reverse, throw the e-brake, 180, throw the automatic lever into drive, then scream 15mph down my quiet neighborhood street! Life in the fasttt laaaane

Best Place To Jack Up Engine

Hey All, I'm going to be changing both front motor mounts soon on my 2008 GMC Yukon Denali, 6.2, RWD. What's the best/least damage-potential area for using a floor jack with wooden 2x4's to slowly lift the engine?

    Broken Motor Mounts

Hey All, I've read enough to know to go the H3 route! My 2008 Yukon Denali RWD's passenger mount is bad...but the driver's side is completely fine?? I thought usually it was the other way around? Maybe the driver's was replaced by a previous owner (I've owned it for 25k miles, it now has 97k on...

    Tru-Cool Max 40k Transmission Cooler

I thought optimal tranny temps on our rigs were 160-200°F? If the fluid isn't hitting those temps, then it may be a bit too thick and cause the tranny to work harder?

    Oil leak

It's all perspective. The rear main was bone dry. I do oil changes synthetic every 3-4k, and routinely clean the pcv valve to try to limit excessivec crankcase pressure. I know the guy who was doing the actual internal tranny rebuild. I don't know the techs who do the reinstall, and their...

    Oil leak

I opted not. At 85k miles in my 2008 Yukon Denali, I let the sleeping dog sleep. I've heard of leaks developing after bad rear main seal replacements. If I can get to 150k miles until rear main seal replacement needs, I'll feel justified. If it starts leaking tomorrow, I'll be bummed! Haha.

    Oil leak

I had a shop tell me my similar leak was rear main gasket (seal was dry, per my looking through bell housing hole). I then had some tranny work done, and the tranny shop looked right at the rear main seal and gasket...dry as a bone. So I kept on following the leak up and up the block, to the...
