Oil Catch Can - Surprised By Results

I do not have any Range AFM, however if you ever have a warranty claim, make sure no one knows about that aftermarket device (I inspect warranty claims daily!)

BCM/whatever its called on chevy scanner?

It shouldn't, mine doesn't after I turned that setting off. However with the setting enabled, it used to honk when running.

    5.3 & 6.2 Lifter Failures Compilation Thread

And here's yet another, a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban with a 5.3 liter and 137,016 miles which featured a fractured lifter (roller broke off of the lifter) which subsequently damaged the camshaft as well.

You can disable the horn-honking alert for key left in vehicle from the infotainment screen.

2015 Yukon Denali - Cleaned throttle body today

I think it is best practice to disconnect the battery. I cleaned the throttle body on a 2003 Toyota Camry many years ago without disconnecting the battery and the idle was way off (idling way too high while in gear!) when I was finished until I reset it.

Oil Catch Can - Surprised By Results

I just checked my catch can way early this time, only 428 miles post-oil change, and was surprised to find a bit of what appeared to be fresh engine oil (looked just about the same as the oil that went in, no water.) I did not measure it out, perhaps next time when I'm expecting it. For the...

    5.3 & 6.2 Lifter Failures Compilation Thread

Here's a 2020 GMC Yukon with a 5.3 liter and 83,000 miles that experienced both camshaft wear and lifter wear simultaneously, not really sure which one happened first. Additionally, just about all of the cylinder walls experienced scoring. The engine was sent out to a local machine shop but...

    2016 Tahoe 2nd Row swap

Solder and heat shrink? That is what I would do considering the seats will never need to come out again, the quick disconnect harnesses are all about manufacturing and assembly line efficiency.

Partition to separate 2nd and 3rd ROW

Hence one of the various reasons I would prefer a second row bench seat to the captains chairs.

Yet another Yukon with engine tick and low oil pressure

That makes no sense. What else did they say? Did they inspect the pickup tube and screen, did they clean it out thoroughly? Making the seal refreshed and rejuvenated yet resulting in lower pressure doesn't add up IF no other factors changed.

3rd row dome light on with lift gate?

I see. My 2019 only has 3 rows of dome lights - The cargo area is dim regardless, however all of the interior lights turn on when I open the tailgate. However my wife's Nissan Rogue functions as your 2023, the cargo area light is exclusive to the tailgate only. The Passenger doors do not...

3rd row dome light on with lift gate?

Does yours have a 4th row light or no? IT seems as though they offered them up until 2016 or 2017 and then from then there on out they only gave 3 rows of dome lights. Sucks!

    Transmission Cooling Line Repair?

When I was a teenager with my first vehicle, a 1995 Jeep Cherokee, I did the same thing, cut off the crimped fittings from both ends of the transmission oil cooler lines and slid on new rubber fuel line, double clamping both ends with a worm drive clamp. Never had any issues, however the best...

F-yeah, I inspect daily. Don't you dare ever keep a KIA beyond that 100,000 factory warranty! Add the theft on top of that, lol.

Main Bearing Failure with 6.2L at 3,200 miles

The cost of EVERYTHING associated with our daily lives increases in costs, and when the UAW asks for a raise to counterbalance, the first thing American corporations do is conduct massive layoffs and ship manufacturing and assembly overseas. Make America Great Again!

    Cheap Catch Can Install

I had mine plumbed backwards, thinking that the screen and honeycomb should go on the vacuum side, when in actuality, I read some installation instructions the other day, that stated that the screen and honeycomb should go on the PCV valve side, to help separate and precipitate the oil and...
