What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Thanks, good to know. Mine does not have that code.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

When I click the link, Amazon right off says those do not fit my truck (take with a grain of salt...). Rockauto also does not list those as fitting my truck. Perhaps not used on the XL version? Not sure, but I know the ones Rockauto did recommend for my ZW7 (#540-433) work outstanding. EDIT...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Not 100% sure on the Nivomats, but yes, the ZW7 Premium Smooth Ride. I used AcDelco #540-433 as it was what I found to match the ZW7 code for 4wd versions.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finally got around to replacing the junked Gabriel shocks in the rear with AcDelco, MAJOR improvement on ride quality and handling. My guess is previous owner didn't check RPO codes to get the correct ones, or rather the shop he took it to didn't care (he gave me all the paperwork, the...

    Useless Information

I can't speak for where Swathdriver got his numbers, but I'm guessing experience and research. The link below does show EPA for an '09 on straight E85. Interesting to see his custom mixtures fall in line with those estimates for E85. Awesome he took time to make the spreadsheets...

    Useless Information

Compared my '04 to an '09 equivalent. The nnbs is only 300 lbs heavier, 15 more HP, and 5 more torque. Extremely minimal difference. Is it maybe tied with the use of E85? Mine is a flex as well, but I only use plain old 87 octane.

    Useless Information

Interesting, I would have assumed it would have been better than the NBS being these have the 6-speed tranny. Known reason for the low mpg?

Help please its cold and no heat in the front

Those are some harsh temps to handle with no heat. You said you did the HVAC reset, but did you check to make sure the blend door actuators were moving? You said dual auto control, so I'm assuming you have the dials with a digital display and not the slides. The driver's side blend door is under...

    Front Differential

Awesome, thanks for the links. And this would also do the seals on the output shafts? Edit: Nix that, saw where it said includes axle seals further down in the description. Thanks

    Front Differential

I guess to put it simply, I'm trying to find what I need to rebuild or replace my front axle assembly. I'm not going to just rebuild the main differential (center piece), but the entire thing including the side piece (axle housing on right side) where the difference in the assemblies are. When I...

    Front Differential

It definitely needs a rebuilt, but what kit? When I search for parts, all I see is for the 4x4 models, nothing about the non-Denali "AWD" versions that don't have actuators. Without an actuator, internal parts should be different, meaning the kit for normal 4x4 wouldn't be the right one for the...

    Front Differential

I have a question about the front diff in my Yukon. It is the "AWD" version with the BW 8842 (2-speed) transfer case. I can find nothing that separates this front diff from standard 4x4 differentials when looking for parts, or even replacements, when searching parts sites. From what I know to be...

    Longest time idling?

Clutch fan here, have idled well over an hour without issue. Just make sure your coolant isn't broken down and the radiator and condenser fins are clean, and you shouldn't have a problem. A/C may not work spectacularly in the middle of the summer in direct sunlight doing that though :flame:

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Heck yeah, thanks! Will definitely try this when I can. I have done similar using cold chisel on old farm equipment, but didn't think about a nail punch for smaller applications.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I tried both. I did the casing around it first, and when that didn't work, I tried heating the bolt and then letting it cool, so that it would expand and then shrink to help break the threadlock. Didn't work. Went back to heating the casing. Still nope. The techniques work great for rusted...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I did a bad bad thing... Had the day off, so I did a little maintenance on the Yukon. When I bought it a couple months ago, it had large all terrain tires which were loud, but I could hear some roar that wasn't tires. I looked through the records the owner had, saw the front differential had...

Front Diff/Drive Axles, Remove and still Drive?

Sounds like you had a bad wheel hub. In this year range, on the 4wd trucks, you can take out your CV axles and your wheels won't fall off. Look at the design, the CV axle nut and washer just pull the CV axle in snug so there isn't any slip on the splines, and no room for moisture in there...

    SWRC Replacement Issue

Alright, another pic now that new led a/c unit is in. Next issue: SWRC is yellow, very yellow in comparison, but that has to be the cover/plastic as the LEDs used are white (100% positive on that). It isn't all that clear in the pic, but the SWRC buttons are more yellow and the cluster is less...

    A/C High Side Port

100% It is clear in the pictures that a schrader valve would not fit (inner diameters are different, as well as no threads). But I dug it out of the trash, pulled the rubber out with a pick, and took a picture of the plunger that keeps the rubber in place. Definitely a different style valve...

    A/C High Side Port

Had time today to make the change over for the A/C high side service port, and got those pics. Since this has been viewed several hundred times and no one said they had any adverse side effects for those that had the schrader style, I went for it. Top side, left is the OEM "rubber ball" or...

    SWRC Replacement Issue

I can definitely recommend those LEDs for the cluster, they look fantastic. I didn't scrub the blue off the overlay, so they have a very slight nice blue to the gauges which goes great with the lights on the Kenwood HU, couldn't be happier unless there was a way to make the drab green on PRND123...

2004 Tahoe won't shift, no power, transmission?

+1 for what Chris said, if you are pushing it to make it move, then trans will act accordingly by staying in low gear. Any warnings on DIC, such as "Traction Active"? Press the top button on that AWD selector to the left of the cluster while in park to shut off Stabilitrack and TC (traction...

    A/C High Side Port

Yes, that is an aftermarket style using the schrader valve, not the OEM valve style, also sold at Rockauto. I'm 99.999999% sure that OEM is an entirely different style, often referred to as a rubber ball valve. I could be wrong, but the bottom side of the OEM style looks nothing like the bottom...

    A/C High Side Port

Hey guys, this is what is on my 2004, it is the OEM high side valve/port. Not sure if/when they stopped using this style, but I know it is on my '04 Yukon XL, was on my '03 Yukon XL and '01 Tahoe Z71, '01 Camaro, and '00 Regal GS. All had this rubber stopper style. I have replaced them before...
