    Engine Stuttering at ~1500 RPMs

So, an update on this: I replaced all the plugs and wires. The 8th one looked like it had never been replaced. This didn't change anything, but I'm glad I did it. Drove up to Birmingham, the stuttering kept getting worse and worse, and I noticed my gas mileage was awful just going down the...

    Engine Stuttering at ~1500 RPMs

On mine, any of the M gears except 6 will keep it in V8 mode; I've verified this with the DIC.

OK will do. How often do you do this? What are some brands of plug wires you recommend? Thanks for the help!

    Engine Stuttering at ~1500 RPMs

Thanks. We had it serviced around 60k ago I believe. Plugs and wires could be original, I don't know how old or what brand. We typically use the cheap fuel but add a bottle of Lucas additive 2x/month Definitely does it when locked into V8 mode in M5 gear. Typically it's in V8 when it occurs...

    Engine Stuttering at ~1500 RPMs

Hey everyone I've looked here and not found any definitive answers on what might be causing this. The vehicle is my 2012 Suburban LT 2WD 5.3L. About 185k miles on it. It is bone stock except for retrofitted headlights and an extra engine to frame ground cable. Oil is changed religiously. The...

    Retrofit Headlight opinion???

I had a horrible experience with DNA Motoring housings for my '12 Burb. They were permasealed, so there's that. Also one of the adjusters crapped out right after I finished my retro. Lastly, the plastic in the buckets is so cheap it's like rubber when it gets even a little warm. If I had it...

    Need help diagnosing parasitic drain

So I've done some digging and found out some interesting information. Lots of what I found out confirmed what you guys said...inside fuse 22 = info, which is the DIC. But when I pulled the fuse, what I thought was the DIC, was still on. I thought that it referred to the buttons to the right...

    Need help diagnosing parasitic drain

OK cool. I don't have a Tech2 or a scanner that can read the BCM. If I wanted to check the DIC switch, is there a diagram or picture that I can use to find it?

    Need help diagnosing parasitic drain

Thanks for the tip! I did this method first before I did the pulling fuses method. I think it works well but looking up each drop was a bit of a pain. I started doing all the 10A, then all the 25A, etc. but then I lost track of what I'd done and not done. So that's when I went with the...

    Need help diagnosing parasitic drain

I have a 2012 Suburban 2WD LT with the 5.3. I've had it regularly be slow to start or require jumping off if sitting for 12-24 hours. Of course nothing is left on or chargers left plugged in. Basically I've isolated the problem to the "info" fuse in the box on the end of the dash. No other...

Gorgeous! I always wondered why we don't see HUD's on more vehicles. Does it work well? In daylight also?

Backup camera + head unit install question

I did a Pioneeer HU, an aftermarket backup camera, and a Maestro. Getting everything realigned in the dash was a bit of a pain, but it's a pretty straightforward process and I couldn't be happier with the result.

Taking a road trip - any ideas or recommendations?

I built a portable media center under the seat, and installed an overhead screen. They can watch on the screen and also stream to their tablets. Since they don't watch much TV at home, they now look at car rides as a treat.

Need help troubleshooting A/C issue on 2010 Tahoe

Do you have the automatic thermostat air or the manual air controls? If automatic I believe there is something common with needing to clean out the little vent above the driver's head

    2013 Tahoe Needs Help w/Design

I used the Maestro interface on my LT with Bose. I kept the stock Bose amp/speakers and put in a Pioneer 1400NEX head unit. I love it and can use all the stock steering wheel buttons, etc. War Eagle!

'12 Suburban Retrofit - questions and worklog

If I had it to do over again I would: Make sure I was buying quality aftermarket housings with butyl sealant. Mine were a bit cheaper than Depo but were lower quality, and had permaseal. Hours and hours of work to save a few bucks. And the adjuster slips on these quite a bit. Put in the...

What is a good / Better performance set of replacement low beams?

Please be careful putting LED's in a reflector designed for halogens. It's unlikely they will reflect out on the road the same way, and it's highly likely part of your beam will be in the eyes of oncoming drivers

I saw the pics of your retrofit in the Alpharex thread. Looks like it went pretty well. With the M-LED did you have to cut into your frame?
