Mine does the same thing I've noticed. If I run the vent air even with the a/c off, the air comes in cold, even in the summer. However when I do turn the a/c on, the fan starts running. Doesn't really bother me so long as I have cold and heat when needed.
We’ve been getting unusual amounts of rain here lately and noticed my back doors were full of water. Went to clear the drain holes and noticed they had caps on them! WTF? Took them off and had about a quart of water each. Why would they cap off a drain hole?
More than likely you simply got some water into the cabin air intake, which condensed inside windshield. This occurs from the engine heat (heat exchanger) evaporating the water, it coming up through the defroster vents, and then condensing on the cooler glass. Very often in cool humid climates...
From my understating a lot of these were used by Border Patrol and Bureau of Land Management (among others) for off-road applications. They lift the front end up for better clearance. Are you sure you're not looking at PPV trucks and not SSV. The PPV sit lower than the SSV.
I went with ACDelco for everything at 94K miles. Did the transmission, differentials, transfer case, brake fluid, and power steering. It was expensive but it'll be years before it has to be done again. The original transmission gasket was in good shape so I reused it.
Thank you OP and all you guys for contributing to this thread. Installed mine today and it went in easily thanks to the information contained here. Was able to find the power plug underneath. If you're persistent you can lift the flooring up high enough to remove the plastic cover without...
I'd suggest looking on ebay or craigslist for the trim pieces. As for the DIC switch, for a lot less than the price of a dash panel you can get a rotary tool (Dremel) and do it yourself. Just use epoxy to bond it from behind.
So I'm sure this has been asked before and that perhaps it's common knowledge to some, but I've been unable to find a solid answer through a search. Essentially I'm just wondering if it's safe to lift the front end via this cross member. I've done so several times now and have not observed...
I'm fairly certain you don't have to be law enforcement to have them service your lamp. There's a few bolts on it you could try tightening to see if it doesn't alleviate the slop a bit.
So went ahead and did the transmission flush today (along with the differentials & transfer case). On this 6 speed, I was able to finagle the pan off without prying the exhaust, which was fortunate because the exhaust has zero give. I removed the filter, rotated the pan slightly clockwise and it...
I’m a glutton for punishment ;) Hopefully I can pull the exhaust down far enough with some persuasion.
Nope, no plug. The pan needs to come off to change the filter anyways and clean out the magnet.
