I am a Store manager for an Autozone, I hate our policy to install batteries. I would prefer people either take the risk to do it themselves or take it to a real shop/mechanic. Too many times a "convince service" has turned into a PITA. And customers are always blaming us, whether it was our...
Driving the trailer around yesterday to get it ready for summer camp Sunday. After getting it home, had the Drivers front caliper sticking to the point of a smoking rotor.
Luckily since I just did the brakes less then 30 days ago, I warrantied out the pads and rotor and replaced the Caliper...
Had to replace the Left front caliper, pads, and rotor. Pulling a trailer around and came home to a smoking rotor.
Luckily I just did the brakes last month, so I got them warrantied and bought a replacement caliper
Still on the list:
Rear brakes
Rear bumper
Rear hitch
Rear shocks
Backup camera
Air bags for the springs (depending on how it hauls the trailer with 7 people in it)
Replace driver seat lower cover
I also swapped out the bug shield and front visors for some unbroken ones.
Picked up a doorman radio kit to redo the stock radio.
Had to put amber bulbs in the corners and replace the license plate lights to finish getting a inspection sticker.
So the truck sat from End of February to end of May while I collected parts
2 upper control arms
2 lower control arms
2 inner tie rods
2 out tie rods
Passenger wheel hub
Passenger brake hose
Passenger CV axle
Front shocks
Front sway bar links
Camber adjusters
Front pads and rotors
Now I knew it needed 4 ball joints, but didn’t realize how bad. Ended up loosing a passenger upper while driving.
Of course this added to the parts needing replaced.
Picked up a used 2004 Tahoe z71 from my sister for $1,000 back in February. I am a Scoutmaster for my sons troop and wanted a bigger vehicle to pull the trailer and hold more kids. My daily is a ‘05 Jeep Liberty.
2004 z71 with 164k
Has some type of lift, assuming keys and an aluminum spacer...
I tried searching, but didn't have much luck with full answers.
I picked up a 2004 Tahoe z71 and the rear bumper is rusted out and bent. Not looking to buy a $400 replacement.
What other year and models fit?
Tahoe
Yukon
Denali
Silverado
Sierra
??
Thanks
Scott
