Breaking the Bead on a 22"

Suggest keeping the rubber on the rims if they are shipped to you, despite the extra shipping cost. I had rims sent to me without tires on them; one was dropped and bent the lip despite plenty of padding.

    adding a block heater?

I had the dealership put one in my '18 Yukon Denali as part of purchase and have pictures on a different thread on how I ran the cable out via the fog light surround. Will confirm it worked while in Montana last week @ -36'f.

Do I need to plug in Tahoe/engine heater???

My dealer installed a block heater on my '18 6.2 L Yukon Denali. Was told it will not come on until it is below freezing; as from the post above, don't know if that is 0'C or 0'F, but it worked in Montana this weekend when it was brrrr outside.

    2018 Yukon Denali Flex Fuel?

My '18 Denali says it requires 'premium' fuel. I have yet to see 'ethanol blend' with 91+ octane. Won't the engine knock and lose performance/ range/ power running on corn power, even when adjusting with a tune and a sensor ?

    New tires for 22” rims

I did not have enough clearance on 22" rims for chains, much less mud and snow. Moved to 18" rims and tires to match.

Can't find Winter tires in stock for 22" 275/50/R22

I put on GMC 18" rims rather than 22"s so I could run chains on my snows when in MT/ ND. No issues with the stock calipers.

    Front bumper removal instructions??

I added one tow hook to my 2018 Yukon, right front, and have a thread with pictures in the Forum. Could only add one due to the forward facing radar, however. The OEM material was easy to cut and looks OK. Did the same with a block heater plug install (same rig). Still have the extra tow hook, too.

2021 Yukon Denali Winter rims and tires

I run 18" OEM GMC rims and OEM TPMS as my winter ride vs summer 22"s. Was told i would not have enough clearance for chains w 20" on my '18 Denali. Beware the retractable steps if you have mudflaps, too, in heavy snow.

How about some gas mileage reports?

2018 Yukon Denali 6L w a Yakima topper on 22" all seasons running 91 octane. spring break trip down I-15 n back ~3400 miles 19.7 mpg

    TPMS Sensors

I put in OEM TPMS purchased from the GM store on my winter rims as I didn't want to screw it up, either. Purchased the $12 re-set tool on Amazon. Works great.

    16 denali floor mats

I have a '18 Denali with the WeatherTech purchased from the dealer. They suck. Folded and wouldn't hold their shape within six months. WT says it's the dealers issue. Dealer says not theirs.

Would you go 20” or 22” wheels and why

I run 22" in the summer and 20" in the winter with snow tires so I could put on chains. Not enough clearance with the 22"s...and 18" have been a better choice. 22" stock rims are HEAVY and I notice a difference when tracking on the highway.

    2021 Yukon Denali Purchased!!

Any comments on the pushbutton transmission? Would appear to be problematic for downshifting with a trailer. I thought GMC would have finally added paddle shifters, over the steering wheel shift lever + / -.

    Factory Alarm

I have a 2018 Yukon Denali with the factory alarm upgrade and it triggered when the driver's side quarter glass was punched out. Resulted in a call n text from OnStar, too.

2020 Yukon Denali..Fuel miles per gallon

You may get 22 mpg on the highway, but only in the flats. I had 18.2 mpg* overall on a 2K trip from eastern Washington to western North Dakota on the interstate(s) with less than 200 miles 'in town' driving over the Holidays. I have an '18 Yukon Denali, now with 27K, the 6.2L, was running fully...

    Mud flaps

Agree with the Weather Tech 'flaps. GMC didn't even sell front flaps for the retractable steps last August.

    "Service 4WD" - Master Thread

I now have 24,500 ish on mine, but am running the 10 speed on the 6.2L. The transmission never 'autoshiffted' into 4 lo, and my light was determined to be a short in the switch. Has not happened (fingers crossed) again.

That is not good, my friend. Hope you were wearing seatbelts and not running @ highway speed. I dont think 4 lo goes above 20mph.

    '19-'20 Reliability/longevity?

my nw in July '18 Yukon Denali now has 24K miles on it and I run the 22" in the summer and 20" winters in the Fall. The 22s look good but have noticeable ride difference than the 20s and no clearance for chains. I love the 10 speed; still cannot feel it shift even when making a a hard freeway...

    "Service 4WD" - Master Thread

2018 Yukon Denali 6.2L 10 speed, now with 13,500 miles. Got the Service 4 WD light after shifting into 4 Low and driving in 18"+ snow. Drove well...did not chain up, but could / should have :-) I routinely switch between 2 high, Auto n 4 high depending on snow n ice conditions and tow and down...

2018 Yukon Denali w adaptive cruise tow hook installation

So...I installed the passenger side; still would like a cover/ something to close the trip hole. May have to mod one myself. TY- The tow hook only works on the passenger side for rigs with adaptive cruise control. the driver side frame rail is filled with electronics. I will post once I have it...

2018 Yukon Denali block heater install

So... I drilled a hole in my fog light shroud and stuck in a marine grade 110v outlet with weather cap. Used a heat cut to soften/ mold the plug into the shroud so due to the curves. Turned out well in my opinion. In retrospect, I likely did not need the additional length power cord which came...

2018 Yukon Denali w adaptive cruise tow hook installation

So I cut a rectangle in the plastic shroud to the same size as the 'template' inside the cover, then went a 1/4" more on the top as I was still not able to hook a shackle or my snatch strap to the recovery hook itself. Now looking for a 'filler' or cover for the hole. "H" covers appear to be...

2018 Yukon Denali block heater install

Anyone installed a block heater on their '18 yet? I had the dealer install the heater but was told they can't feed the plug through the grill due to the louvres which open and close based on engine airflow needs. Seems silly to drive around with the plug hanging out of the hood or having to open...
