Sold.
A car guy in Waco snagged it for $7500.
He collects Suburbans, Tahoes, and Yukons.
Exactly the kind of buyer I was hoping for.
Thanks for all the input, guys.
Minor dent in the bumper on the driver's side.
Icons on the climate control are worn off.
Actual miles as of 6:30pm on 8/25/2021.
Lights on the instrument panel work, but seem weak.
And these.
The Weathertech cargo liner in the Tahoe fit perfectly. I'm a little disappointed in this one. Probably too many variants with passenger bench vs passenger captain's seats, I guess.
New driver's seat cover finally arrived and got installed.
Gotta give a shout out to Pablo at Upholstery USA in Cedar Park. He's always done excellent work for me. Also to Tim at Signature Auto Detailing in Leander. The Yukon XL just gleams, as you can see.
Hi, guys.
We’ve been super busy getting our house ready to sell before we move to East Texas.
The replacement seat cover for the driver’s seat finally arrived yesterday, so I’ll get the Yukon to my upholstery guy early next week.
When he’s finished I’ll get you some pics.
The third row seat...
So what happened? I thought I had the last 8.1L on the planet:

I'm in Leander, btw.
So the backstory, if anyone's interested:
We had a 2003 Tahoe (the Dog Hauler) that Spousal Unit absolutely loved and didn't want to part with. Meanwhile I bought a Kubota SVL-65 skid steer for my eventual retirement gig, and needed a way to tow it. I wanted a pickup, so the XL 2500 was a...
Sure, happy to do that. I need to run it though the car wash and retrieve the 3rd from the barn.
Also:
Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX In Dash Multimedia Receiver with 7" Touchscreen Display (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay)...
Thanks, guys.
The driver's seat is badly ripped. I'm waiting for The Seat Shop to ship the replacement covers, then I'll get it listed. Thinking $7500.
I'm expecting my new ride this week or next:
a Cayenne Red 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD AT4.
Don't hate me.
This is my first new vehicle in two...
Upgrades:
LED Head lights and tail lights.
Power Stop K2027-36 front and rear Z36 Truck & Tow Brake Kit with Power Stop performance calipers.
Heated towing mirrors with LED arrow signals
Hi, guys. I need to sell my GMT800, and I'm struggling to set a price for it.
I'm not looking to get top dollar, but I do want it to go to someone who appreciates this truck for what it is.
As far as I can tell, it's one of the last 8.1L Vortec models still on the road.
Effing dealer offered me...
In my '03 Tahoe the leak was caused by the condenser (?) tank in the rear passenger side rusting through. There's a hose near the left rear tire that is supposed to drain the tank. Said hose had become clogged with several years of dog hair.
We used to go the the Airport Festival at IAH. They served
Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Vanilla vodka, Pineapple juice, and Grenadine.
Someone substituted grapefruit juice for pineapple. We called it "Sex on the Runway".
Good times!
Flushing the brake fluid is high on my list, hence the jug.
It worked out. My first thought was to remove the reservoir and clean it out. Removed the battery and battery plate, and got nowhere. Evidently you need to remove the front clip to get it out. But I discovered the washer fluid lines...
When I f**k up, I don't f**k around.
What did I do to my GMT800 Yukon today?
Washer fluid was low, so I grabbed the wrong jug and filled the reservoir with brake fluid.
Don't try this at home kids. I am a professional idiot.
