    6.0L to 8.1L swap advice

I have a 6.0L and 8.1L suburban 2500 both completely intact. Here are the specs: 2001 Chevy Suburban 2500HD 4x4 174,000 miles (6.0L) 2003 Chevy Suburban 2500HD 2WD 164,000 miles (8.1L) To be honest I don't need both, and want to sell one. However, I like the 4WD...

NEED HELP!! Diagnosing loose U-Joints and oil leak (Video provided)?

2001 suburban 2500 4x4 6.0 When I shift into reverse, I hear a slight thud with a split second hesitation. Also, when I take off, I hear a slight tinny grinding noise which goes away after hitting 10mph. What could it be? I also have this oil leak. It leaks a palm sized puddle every two days...

    Can an 8.1L drop right in a 6.0L 2500 4x4 chassis+body?

I have an 8.1L (2x4) and a 6.0L (4x4) Suburban 2500. The 8.1L is getting a bit rusty and and contemplating selling it as is, but could probably utilize the more powerful engine with my less rusty 6.0L body and chassis. Will it drop right in? If so, what would I need to swap?

Engine palpitating at idle (thumping sound)

I have a 2001 Suburban 2500 with the 6.0L. It has 174k miles and drives fine, BUT I seem to notice a weird intermittent engine stuttering/palpitating sensation when idling. No check engine codes (I even hooked up the OBD2 to make sure). It is strange, because it seems like it's skipping a beat...

    Should I keep the 8.1L or 6.0L?

I have the following: '03 Suburban 2500 LT 8.1L 2x4 w/ 164,000 miles '01 Suburban 2500 LT 6.0L 4x4 w/ 174,000 miles I have a video on youtube showing the condition of these two 'burbans. I can't really justify keeping the two as I don't have much space and don't really tow anymore. I love...

Deciding on how to clean up rust (video included)

I recently got a 2003 chevy suburban 2500 w/ the 8.1L vortec. One of the big deciding factors was the engine...it's hard to find nowadays and for cheap. Video: excuse the editing, I threw it together really quick. Anyway, it is pretty rusty underneath and on the rocker panels and rear quarter...

Why do people say the 5.3 Vortec is slow?

i recently picked up a used ‘05 Yukon SLT XL 4wd. By all means, it’s not a Camaro, but for an SUV, it goes. Granted, I only use it for my daily driver and don’t tow, but it has more than enough acceleration and passing power. The torque is great and I can just tap the gas and cruise at 1.5k rpms...

    4L60E Reliability stock vs. modified??

I've heard mixed reviews about the 4L60E and that it isn't the most reliable. How would it do with a few engine modifications such as a cold air intake with a catback exhaust and/or cams? Would the extra HP/TQ affect its longevity or would it even hold up? I know the Denali has a slightly more...

Market Value of 05-06 Yukon XLT/Denali

Let me just start off by saying I don't know much about GMC, Chevys, or SUVs. A friend of mine is moving out of the country and is selling me his '06 Yukon XLT 5.3 w/ 4wd 106K miles. We sort of agreed on $5000 and we're going to close the deal later today. It is in good shape. No CELs, runs...
