I have another-spare 4l60e transmission.
I understand that and I appreciate the concern but I am not asking for opinions about my current transmission or setup. I have another-spare 4l60e transmission.
My inquiry is asking about build/rebuild kits that include everything or close to it. I...
As of right now the transmission does not have issues. But the automotive instructor has 30 years experience. 10 years specifically with transmissions. I'd like to take advantage of that. Since im not looing to build anything fancy or performance i think it will be fine
looks like i have

2005 Tahoe LT 2wd 139k 4l60e
I'm not looking for a performance transmission...im NOT racing or driving very hard and NOT very much heavy towing
I would say im looking for a "bulletproof" stock replacement with quality parts.
I am looking for reputable complete kit options.
From my reading...
here is an UPDATE.... I asked the automotive instructor if he can send me the details of exactly how he determined its the ECM.
He said - "We checked in ShopKey and found that power is supplied to the vent valve via a hot at all times fuse. The ground to the solenoid is provided by the PCM...
well i talked to him a little more today and the instructor said they did a few tests
Well, we cant really test the current EVAP vent valve because it is "burned out"
but yes, I already ordered
4 - 02 sensors,
Evap vent valve
I've added this to the original post
The codes are
P0060
P0161
P0449
The automotive instructor said "Do not order the vent valve because the short in the ECM will just burn it out again."
Thoughts?
i purchased the truck a month ago. haven't driven it much bc i wanted to get some standard servicing/tune up work done first. but i dyeing the short time it actually drives pretty well. I brought it to our automotive instructor to look it over and do some standard servicing... all he said was...
The only report i got from our Automotive Instructor was
"The ECM is shorted to ground for the vent valve. It has burned out the vent valve. You will need a new ECM and an evap vent valve"
The current ECM is a salvage unit
lol.....i have no idea what this means
i called the dealer. they literally said they would only give me the part number on an invoice (basically, they will give it to me after i buy it)
how do i contact you for more information?
yes.... thats kinda what im asking,
1. Where do I find out the original OE part number b/c the ECM in the truck is not the original
2. what other options do I have for getting a replacement PCM and having it properly programmed outside of going to the dealership?
I will find out the codes...
Apologies for the ignorance but this is my first time dealing with this issue
I recently purchased a TAHOE that had a replacement/salvage ECM.
I work at a school and brought it to my automotive department for a complete service/tuneup. During the process the found an ECM issue... and this is...
