Why don’t my batteries last !!!!

Original batteries in our Yukon and Honda lasted 18 months each, then dropped a cell. Replaced both under warranty and both died at around 2 years and not covered under warranty. I replaced them with Costco (interstate) batts and will replace them every 2 years as cheap insurance because we go...

2021 Yukon Denali - Sudden, Unexpected Slowdown from 67 to 50mph

My ‘17 Denali will do exactly that when on ACC and I’m overtaking another vehicle and the road is a slight left hand turn. The ACC mistakes the vehicle (usually a truck) in the other lane as being in my lane and hits the brakes pretty darn hard. I’m to the point that I see that situation coming...

So this is what it's like to have a 6.2?

Yup. Our last road trip on the Yukon was LA to Tahoe and back. That included a week of putting around in 4WD in the snow. Same on trips to Oregon. Cruise is set to 80 on the straight stuff—except in Oregon where we only speed a little. Most of the Yukon’s miles is towing a 5K boat. There it...

So this is what it's like to have a 6.2?

2017 Denali here. What’s not to like about 420 HP, 460# torque and 21 mpg on road trips? I tow a lot with mine (almost 100 miles towing the boat yesterday) and the extra power is really appreciated on on-ramps. I wouldn’t say no to beefier brakes though.

    MILEAGE POLL

2017 Denali here. I just use it for towing the boat and snowy road trips where 4WD comes in handy. Almost 26,000 miles. Garage stored too. Really not driving it much these days. I just ordered oil change stuff. Records say I drove 1500 miles in 11 months. Who mentioned Bend, Oregon? We went...

2015 Tahoe/Sketchy service at Chevy dealer - your thoughts!

I hear you on the lug nut thing. I bought a 1 year old Yukon Denali with 3600 miles at a dealer 350 miles away. They changed the oil and rotated the tires before I flew out and picked it up. Drove it home 75-80 mph and no problems. Little did I know. A few days later, I noticed a lug nut...

    Power assist steps - grip

I’ve never slipped on mine except after I treated it with Back To Black. Like a previous poster said: maybe the dealer put something on. I went from a mid size SUV to a Yukon. There is a learning curve to using that step.

Anybody else get the 20s on their Denali?

We test drove both sizes on the same day. Same dealership, same loop. The 20s were WAY smoother. I’m a geezer. Don’t really care about looks. I just want the Yukon to do its job: tow the boat, road trips. It does both beautifully.

    Auto braking being ridiculous

Of you have adaptive cruise control, hard braking on a freeway can happen. It happens, for example, if you are in a mild left hand turn, overtaking a truck in the lane to the right. All the sudden, the ACC thinks the truck is in your lane and hits the brakes, ******* off everyone behind you who...

    So this happened...

Nice rig! I take it you have adaptive cruise control. Does yours follow at a reasonable distance? Mine tailgates—like 2-2.5 car lengths at freeway speeds. Been to the dealer 4 times for it. It still tailgates even after having the module replaced after it finally threw a code. Now they say...

New 2021 Yukon 6.2l cabin noise

I can’t drive my Denali with just the rear windows down due to that buffeting. Opening the sunroof helps. Basically, the rear windows stay up and all is fine.

2019 GMC Yukon NO Trans Gears, NO Tachometer, NO Oil Pressure, NO Power Steering SECOND TIME!

2017 Yukon Denali here. My battery lost a cell at 18 months and around 10k miles. While it BARELY started, it never threw a code or had electrical gremlins related to that issue. I live in So Cal, and there isn’t one bit of rust or corrosion on this SUV. The only gremlin I have now is the fuel...

iPhone 11 Pro Max working with 2017 Denali?

Just to bookend this thread, I got the 11 Pro Max and it connects just fine. I only use it plugged in as Bluetooth music quality sucks.

iPhone 11 Pro Max working with 2017 Denali?

Before buying a new cell phone (iPhone 11 Pro Max), I googled compatibility and got some scary posts of people not being able to get AppleCarPlay to work. I know I’ll need a USB-a to Lightning cable to get a connection, maybe even a sub-c/usb-a adapter. Anyone done this successfully? thanks

    Gas Gauge Issue

My 2017 Yukon Denali quit registering full. It moves around between 5/8 and 7/8 full. Haven’t taken it in yet. Still under warranty.

Legal vs recommend tow ratings for 8.1L Burb/Yukon XL

I had a Trailblazer with the 4.2. Read the fine print on your Envoy. I bet that 6200# rating is only for use with a load-leveling hitch. Else, it’s around 4000# with 400# on the tongue. My boat slightly exceeded that and towing any distance just didn’t feel safe. Airbag helper springs would...

2017 Denali. My first electrical gremlin

So this just started. I filled up the other day and the electronic fuel “gauge” won’t go to full. It varies from 3/4 to 7/8 full. I topped it off a couple times and same thing. Ran a tank through it and filled it up—won’t go to full. Just wanders around between 3/4 and 7/8. It drops as fuel is...

AC issue or normal? 2017 Yukon Denali

I have this written down for my 2017 Yukon just in case: AC Warranty 5 years/60k miles Special program 17336 800 462-8782 2015-2017 Good luck

Found the limits of my 4WD Denali with all season tires in snow

I’m familiar with AWD vs 4WD. I just thought it was funny my DIC said AWD when in Auto. To me, Auto is sort of an AWD lite.

Found the limits of my 4WD Denali with all season tires in snow

OK, so I took some heat for loosely using the term AWD with my 2017 Denali. Well, we were up in the snow again the other day, and guess what my DIC said when I selected Auto? Purists: have at it.

Anyone had battery issues after 2 years?

Hey. A couple years ago, I replaced the battery in my mom’s 95 Buick Regal—30k grandma miles, always garaged. It was the original battery! Now that engine always started instantly, so I think a D cell would have worked. I shoot for 4 years for my boat’s 4 group 31 wet deep cycles.

    Tow Hitch Ratings

Not a bad person, but possibly an uninsured person if you get in a wreck while towing overweight.

Found the limits of my 4WD Denali with all season tires in snow

I’ll take a SUV with weight on all 4 wheels over an empty pickup any day. A million years ago, I got snowed in after skiing at Big Bear. I was driving a 1976 Silverado. Had no traction at all until I asked a guy driving a loader to give me a scoop of snow.

:D:D After shoveling out my car, I did this ;). This was the berm opposite the cabin.

Found the limits of my 4WD Denali with all season tires in snow

We got home from Donner last night. A 7.5 hour drive in this Denali feels like a three hour drive. LOVE this vehicle for road trips. I just wish the ACC didn’t drive like a douche—tailgate, then drop 2 or 3 gears and go WOT when the poor bastard in front of me gets out of the way. It’s been to...
