I've checked at my 2 salvage yards here locally and it was a wash. My next nearer ones are anywhere from 3-5 hours away. I'll have to check back out there again next weekend but also finding someone parting out their rig up here is also very low but we'll keep my eyes open.
Hi folks.
Vehicle in question is a 99 Tahoe 4dr.
I have been unsuccessful in locating a complete air distribution box assembly locally. My current box is full of cracks and some parts just flat out holes in it. I do not have any heat or cooling so I'm limited in when I can drive it. Any...
Was finally able to get my negative battery cable replaced. The Tahoe fired right up and the charging system seems to be doing a little better now. Side benefit, the windows move a lot quicker than before
Went to go start my ol' girl this morning. Lots of clicking. Threw a charger on her and topped off her battery. Still lots of clicking. Scratching my head I tested a theory. I took 1 side of a set of jumper cable and jumped from the negative battery terminal to the bolt grounding out the...
Drove my old girl around for a small bit after her winter slumber. And I'm still looking for a new air distribution box since mine is busted and I don't have AC or Heat up front
I'll definitely keep my eyes out for a 120 speedo ... But am really curious as to how you obtained the cubby where the passenger side door bag would have went. I would really really REALLY want to have that in my ride.
I'd like to hit the yards I have here, all 2 of them so process are a bit higher than bigger cities :( ... They are only 15 miles one way from my house but I would like to go see if I can snag one or two of them that aren't already taken out from others. And I sure will hit you up when it's...
Thank you so much for the link!!! So far most of the parts I'm needing are coming up as discontinued. And as for what they did to the poor girl I have no idea. But the more I'm looking the more I'm finding they may have had the mind set of "Use and Abuse"
Edit for my bad formatting lol
Did some digging under the dash to find the mixing actuator so I can remove it and put it on cooling instead of heat ...
Found it was already removed and was hiding under the passenger seat.
So I moved the flap to the cool side and found some nice little holes in the air box :(
So now I...
Will this version work with a 99 OBS Tahoe with the 5.7/4L60E?
What can/can't this do?
Can it delete EGR or O2 sensors or the like?
Can this also hello with timing for MPG rather than power?
Sorry for all the questions but I was taught "you'll never know if you never ask"
Mine dances like that all the time and i'd like to get it fixed somehow. Just might end up looking into a cluster swap and see if that solves the issue.
Very nice looking ride!
When I was looking for my first Tahoe/Yukon I was hopping for a 2dr with the barn doors but they just don't exist in my neck of the woods. Then Panda showed up at my local Walmart parking lot for $600 with known issues from a very honest seller. I picked her up and am...
I'm already going to be tearing into the dash to replace the upper box prefer anyways since I have broken flaps. As for a shop I wish I could afford that expense of checking out out first.
Well...
Part of it is. LOL
The rear AC blows cool air, not cold. And the front just blows warm to hot air so I'm not sure if I have a mixing issue or what on that front.
I just received the upper air box housing.
Hoping to get started in on taking the dash out for the fix this weekend. I'm not sure if I should just replace the evaporator while I'm that far into it or not. What's everyone thoughts on that?
If it's anything like my 99 OBS Tahoe with the Barn Doors there's only 1 latch on the door and it's right at the door handle height.
I would recommend trying to push in on the door just above and to the left of the handle on the right door as you try and lift the handle to open it.
I...
I've never had good dealings with Dorman so I'm going to say possibly a bad lock mechanism on their part. I would locate a new or even a used ACDelco original from a yard and see if that solves the issue.
There's also the possibility that even if the lock is good the door frame up at the top...
