Yeah, life’s been crazy. We had our 3rd back in August (little girl) and then I bought a house because I’m out of fucking room. Been working on it since December and hopefully moving in soon. This KungFlu is really fucking up my timetable.
What Bomber said.
Honestly, if you’re using a chrome part, I’d wrap it all day. Chrome doesn’t accept paint very well and the highway will destroy all your hard work one tiny chip at a time.
Only thing is he’ll need to pay for a set-up & measure. I’d stick with the alignment shop. If it aligns, then you’re good to go. Without a picture i couldn’t tell you much more but my guess is you will be just fine to keep driving it.
Side note, body shops work in millimeters and anything...
Feel like I haven’t been here in some time... Brakes are all fresh! One weird thing I noticed was the rear brakes were shot but the fronts still had 50% left on them. Do the rears usually go out first? Either way I’m happy that’s finally checked off my to-do list.
Finally got around to installing the front flares. With the HD Hood and the fresh bumpers, I’d say this is the best she’s looked in some time.
It’s officially “fuck yeah Friday”.

But it’s doable.
Have you looked into a company that remans wheels? Try to find someone in your area that will come to you. Costs about $100 per wheel (depending on the damage). I’ve used A company called Chicagowheeldotcom and they come right to the shop - same day service.
If you’re walking into my shop and looking for an estimate I’d do my best to convince you to live with the rust. I know, you hate seeing it, but you’ll hate the cost of fixing it (the right way) even more. I’d likely charge you $800-$1000 plus the cost of the patch panel. If you need...
Thanks!
Soon as I removed the bumper and could see how fucked up it was, I’ve come to the conclusion that a new one is warranted. Not even worth the time to spray it black. It’s junk.
Pretty sure I was getting around 14-15MPG before the switch. So nothing drastic, but i didn’t expect anything crazy. I’m happy with the slight improvements and more than that, happy I finally did something fun for the truck - more than the standard oil change and fix whatever it is when it...
