Location suggestions for SiriusXM Sat radio receiver

I'm looking for suggestions about the installation of a SiriusXM SXV300v1 tuner, that is, where to instal it so it's out of the way. The antenna has a pretty long cable, so that's no problem. Anyone?

The Rack Basket is on, will install clamps tomorrow

I think it looks more than strong. On my Yukon it could be at least 6-8 inches wider, but it's good as is. The red urethane you can see are water resistant seals to keep most of the water out of the tube clamps and interior of the basket tubes.

    A request for vehicle identification...

This is merely a request, I have no command authority out here and don't want that. Please put your year, make, and model (2 door or 4 door), and possibly some of the optional equipment in your signature file. That's in the pull down menu under your user name near the upper right hand corner...

    95 Yukon Interior photos

Some folks requested I post some photos of the interior of my recently acquired 1995 Yukon. Here they are. There's a WeatherTech mat in the back now. The smudge on the drivers seat that can be seen in the photo below was removed with Bick 4 and a microfiber cloth.

Used 4wd today for the first time...questions

Okay, I've had my "new" 95 Yukon for a couple of weeks and have been doing the basic examination as to needs Today, I wanted to drive into the "back 40" so to speak, back where our chickens are kept. We live on a hill side, 11 acres all told, and 4WD is best used to avoid spinning tires My 95...

    Gummi Pflege

I don't know how many of you are familiar with this product, but most BMW enthusiasts use it. It helps preserve rubber seals and lubricates window rubber seals. I just received some and applied to my side windows. Good stuff. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004B8GTQG/

    Battery condition

I checked the battery voltage today after my Yukon had sat unstarted for 48 hours. It was a not good 11.4 volts, meaning I'll be buying a new battery this week.

    New brake parts arrived

Two new rotors, new ceramic pads, and two new front brake hoses arrived this morning (yes, Sunday delivery). It's all AC-Delco Professional level components to replace the 23 year old rubber and to zero time the rotors. I'll have a new pressure bleeder soon, with a GM cap (I wish they'd gone...

    Z71 Bilsteins

While I've verified that at least the front shocks are Bilsteins, the rear ones are too dirty to tell. I'll know soon when I clean them off. I'll have to admit that I'm tempted to simply replace them all to zero time the shocks on all four corners. Somewhat pricey, but not horrible compared...

    Loud muffler

I hate a muffler that drones inside the truck. The aftermarket one on my Yukon drones big time. I'll have to replace it to get some peace inside. It's too loud for sound deadening material to quiet it down. The brand embossed on it says MasterMuffler. In my opinion, it's a POS part.

    Z71 Bilsteins

On inspection this afternoon I was happy to see that my Z71 Yukon still has the Bilstein shocks, at least on the front. Since Bilsteins are known to last at least to 175,000 miles, I still have some way to go to wear them out. The rear shocks were too dirty to see the brand, does the Z71...

    DB Electrical alternator planned installation

Amazon has 160, 200, and 250 amp alternators built by DB Electrical. I'll install one of them in the next few months. Anyone have experience with alternators by this company? Good or bad.

Courtesy, dome and reading lights, and power mirrors inoperative...until

So my new truck arrived and yesterday was my first drive and inspection (I had been out of town). I was a little miffed at the lack of interior lighting and the left and right mirrors not moving at all. So, I looked up the fuses to see if that might be at least part of the problem and to my...

18 inch wheels already on my new Yukon

I'd guess someone along the 23 years of ownership, installed very nice 18 inch wheels on my 1995 Yukon. The tire size is 265/R65-18, Michelins all around. The wheel appears to be OEM, year unknown. If anyone knows any details on these wheels, don't hesitate to post them. I'd like to acquire...

    Looking for LED Headlights

My wife's 2016 sedan has LED headlights, in fact there are NO incandescent lights or bulbs on the car at all. I plan to replace most, if not all, the bulbs on my '95 Yukon 2dr, and am looking for some high quality headlight assemblies to replace OEM. I do NOT like the so-called "angel eyes"...
