    My dream just died

Hope @Electrician is doing well. All is not lost either, remember that. You loved your rig, but the silver lining is there are plenty left for you out there if you so choose.

Yes, she is healing extremely well. At the time of the accident she had a massive goose egg on her forehead, super mild concussion. This happened on the 31st and she headed back to school the next Monday. The Yukon was not drivable, driver rear tire and axle flange ripped off the truck after...

Trying to get the wife on board with getting a GMT-900, I would like a few more airbags. With how well we fared post accident they are on my short list of vehicles. I have my peepers on a 2011 Escalade 2wd 6.2 with 110k for $15k.

The course of events were; initial impact, 180 spin, driver rear tire hit a square curb, and we partial rolled onto drivers side. We are very fortunate for a lot of things. Good Samaritans that helped get the kids out and comfort us before first responders arrived, the first responders of...

@Joseph Garcia said these trucks save lives. I can attest to that. This post is extremely bittersweet for me. This accident was 100% my fault, turned left before looking. And as much as people say, "This is the kind of stuff that just happens.", I still cant help but struggle with it...

Well i found the source of my coolant leak (big crack)

My only complaint about doing the radiator is no drain plug on the thing. A shade tree guy only doing the radiator should be done and road ready in about 2 hours conservatively. Brands of radiators. I have used Spectra on my 3/4 ton twice with success and Acdelco. The fan clutch is typical...

    What's up with my heat?

You will need to compare your RPO codes in the glove box to the actuator you need. There are at least 2 different climate controls in this generation and actuators for each (I assume).

    Oil filter recommendations?

I am whatever is on sale kind of guy. I've used Valvoline, Pennzoil, Kirkland, etc. I got a closeout deal on ACdelco filters off of rock auto so I have been using those lately.

Intermittent dead battery in the AM ! '04

You could. I just pull and put back until I see a drop to 0 mA.

    What's up with my heat?

If memory serves, there are 3 actuators for the front . 2 for temp (passenger/driver), and one for vent position. the one under the glove box is for driver temp, there might be another one under there, but it has been a while.

Intermittent dead battery in the AM ! '04

Probably the easiest way to test circuits for draw; DMM to mA, leads on the battery, then start pulling fuses. Does not identify source of draw other than narrowing down to the circuit, but, sometimes that is 90% of these types of issues.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

With Thanksgiving tomorrow I would like to add this to my list of things to be thankful for not having to deal with.;). In addition to your previous post, I am afraid to send my oil to Blackstone........Although I probably should since i turned 200k a couple months ago.........

Valley pan gasket replacement -- what else proactively?

Intake valve cleaning if it needs it, will need to rotate engine to close the open valves. I wish I did this te last time I pulled my intake.

    Oil Cooler Gasket Alternative

Perhaps my statement is only true for the GMT-800 platform. Which happens to be the section of this forum this thread is in.

    Oil Cooler Gasket Alternative

Yup, Dorman. I agree that these are most likely the issue. Initial investigation on pricing is comparable, maybe a little more expensive to go with ICT. For me, it is not about the cost, but fixing the issue. I like the design of ICT, and routing soft lines vs semi rigid is more appealing...

    Oil Cooler Gasket Alternative

After perusing ICT Billet website, I may keep the cooler and run one of their plates, quick disconnects on the rad side and plumb soft lines. This seems a more cost effective and cleaner route to take.

    Oil Cooler Gasket Alternative

I have been kicking around the idea to eliminate it after it continued to leak after replacing the lines with the "D" brand. I havent tried tightening the large allen socket bolt yet, which I will try. My radiator is roughly a year old, and I am reluctant to replace it considering its age.

Question, If i pull the cooler lines and put the block off plate on, I can keep my radiator with out issue?

    Black Bear EFILive Autocal

Auto cals are the tools used to upload tunes to the ECM mounted to the vehicle. I am unsure if it is possible to upload tunes via a bench harness with an autocal. You will need a license per VIN you would like to use the autocal on, I forget if tunes are stored in the autocal or not. Update...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

What a weekend, did a lot of maintenance that I had been putting off, and some additional that i found when the can of worms got opened. New GM original pitman and idler arm. Also, trans pan drop and filter replacement. Pan replacement also, but that is because I wanted a drain plug, ended up...

    Reduced Engine Power

Did you use an AC Delco professional throttle body? Not just the throttle position sensor? I had these exact same issues and the only fix after lots of trouble shooting and parts throwing was an ACDelco professional throttle body.

    Completed my first transmission rebuild.

This is very cool. I am approaching 200k on a transmission with unknown service history. I have always been reluctant to build a transmission, they seem like an engineering marvel and so many special tools needed to do it right. Not to mention, I hate having other people work on my stuff, and...
