I did receive my dash kit and it fit horribly. I test fit 3 random pieces and none of them completely covered the wood!! What a waste!!
I had a horrible experience in trying to return it as well. It took me weeks to get an RMA as you initially refused to take the kit back. I ordered flat...
Yes, I just went to eBay and purchased the pieces in black. I now have everything in Chrome to sell!
Yes, the headlights are Spyder U-Bars. I didn't pay $400 for them as indicated by the pic. I only paid $285 for the set.
I don't have any on-hand. I'll try to get some and upload them. My garage doesn't face the street, so it's not easy to find a spot to do this...but I will!
This may seem like an odd request and it may be a simple, "No". Is there a way to have the parking lights turn on/off with the ignition? The way my lights are set up, my red halos turn on with the parking lights as do the "C-Lights" (exactly as shown in my signature photo - headlights are NOT...
See my signature...2007 Avalanche. I added the Spyder Chrome headlights ($275) plus replaced all bulbs with 8000K. Primary headlights are HIDs, but you don't have to go that route. You can just use regular bulbs. Daytime runners and turn signals are LEDs. All done for $350.
I didn't need...
Updates thus far...Just got some new shoes! Besides that, I replaced the headlights and added the red halo rings around the fog lights.
I'm working on blacking out the "Avalanche" & "LTZ" lettering on the sides with Plasti-Dip. Next up, replace chrome mirror caps with black ones and replace...
I need new tires...Since I need new tires, I'm going to go ahead and move up to 22x9 wheels.
What tires should I get to keep ride height about the same?
305/40/22
285/45/22
Is one size generally cheaper than the other?
Also, what should I sell my current wheels/tires for? Photo of my truck...
Absolutely. That's how we read maps and equipment in the military. That was 10+ years ago. There's been a shift to green and some blue, but when I served, we used red. Reminds me of sitting in the cockpit again! Red preserves night vision, so when we flew it was red light or no light!
I've installed red LEDs in my Victory Red Avalanche. I used to crew on the Blackhawk helicopter and we used red for low light and to not ruin our night vision. So far so good...I'll post pics tonight!
Has anyone ever ordered from CarID?
I ordered a custom dash kit to cover all of the woodgrain in my 2007 LTZ (I've never been a woodgrain fan). Plus the woodgrain in my truck is scratched and doesn't look as good as it once did (it's 11 years old!!). I ordered the kit (matte black) two weeks...
My 2007 LTZ has the option to listen to whatever source you want in the front and back. My kids watch movies in the back via the DVD (and headphones) and my wife and I listen to the radio up front all at the same time. You just have to select your source in the front and in the back.
I've often thought about doing this. I'm interested to see your follow-up.
Quick questions:
1. I have the DVD with Entertainment Package (rear screen). Does installing this negate that or am I still able to use that screen for my kids?
2. Do I need to install an external GPS antenna to use...
I'm reading that everything in the interior fuse box is "always on". I'm also reading that right by the driver kick panel down below is a distribution box, which has acc/constant and ground outlet. I guess the micro fuse tap I bought is worthless to me now. I found this 10 year old thread and...
Sorry...tried to edit the previous post, but it keeps telling me that it's spam. Here's my diagram, basically the same as the GMC Yukon posted above, but I wanted to be accurate.

I am grounding to the bolt right...
First post...my apologies if this is easily found elsewhere. I searched and read numerous threads, but could not find an answer that referred to my vehicle.
I am installing a dash cam and want it to be powered on only with the ignition.
Here is my diagram...
