Shifter doesn't move from park until I pump the breaks
Before diving in too deep, a simple thing to check is to look the brake lights to make sure the switch is working and has all the wiring in place. If you busted the switch or inadvertently kicked the wires in the panic stop this could account for it.- jcjc

Large motor oil overfill
Unfortunately the overfill phenomenon is more often caused an owner who didn't know very much about cars trying to "fix" an engine noise or rough running by buying motor oil and pouring it in. It usually accompanies other more serious engine damage which was happening before the overfill.- jcjc

Fuel line replacement
It was a while ago that I did mine, I used the kit manufactured by Fineline that comes in sections that join together rather than the OEM tubing that comes as one long piece of tube. 2006 Police Tahoe Door Lock Question

Maintenance to do after picking up your "new" truck
In addition to just checking the spare tire condition and pressure, fully lower, clean and lubricate the secondary hook for the OEM spare tire holder. If the mechanism gets corroded, the technique shown in the owner's manual for jacking up on the center of the tire to release it won't work.- jcjc
