2004 Escalade ESV Fuel Cap Issue

Anyone else ever had problems with the fuel cap, it coming loose, and you get the "Tighten Fuel Cap" message in the DIY, a Check Engine Light, the the Evaporative System code. I'm a bit gun shy because I have replace it twice with two different caps, both which showed to be the right one, but...

    '04 6.0L Escalade AC Compressor

It seems like the AC compressor is not kicking in. What should I be looking at? Thanks

    Brake Fluid Actuator

'04 Escalade ESV Mechanic says I have a bad brake fluid actuator, $1700, but it's an obsolete part. They will try to find one. Keep adding brake fluid and keep driving. Does that sound right?

    Bilstein Conversion

I have installed a Bilstein rear conversion kit (shocks and springs) on a '03 Escalade and an '04 Escalade ESV, and am 101% satisfied. Keep in mind It's a different kit for the Escalade and the ESV. $300-ish from Rockauto and $300 for my local mechanic to install. Figure 1/2 day.

    2004 Escalade DRL

I want to replace the burned out DRL on the passenger side, but the grill just barely keeps the headlight from moving forward enough to remove/replace the DRL. Other than pulling the grill, are there any workarounds? Seems like I had this problem on our Yukon and other Escalade. My wife would...

    AC Schrader Valves

My low side Schrader valve is leaking (I can see it bubbling), so I am going to replace both the low and high valve cores. There's a tool ($40) so you don't have to evacuate the system, and a valve core kit is only $15. It includes 4 valve cores, one port (in case you need it), and the caps...

    Stability System Disabled/Engine Power Reduced

This is probably the most dangerous thing that's ever happened to us in a vehicle, & I can't believe a car manufacturer would actually incorporate a feature like this. Feature? Huh? In hectic Florida traffic our new-to-us, one-owner, 100K mile, 2004 Escalade ESV went into Stability System...

    2003 Escalade 6.0L AWD Suspension

2003 Escalade 6.0L AWD Suspension The air-ride was shot long ago, and the rear air shocks are disconnected. The suspension is really pathetic when towing our boat. Can I replace the rear shocks and springs with conventional? Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Pulley Bearing Noise???!!!

2003 escalade 6.0L We've got what sounds like a pulley bearing whine/rattle, but only when accelerating, not when idling. Water Pump? or?

    Alternator Question

This is not about our Yukon or our Escalade, but you guys are so much more fun than those on Mitsubishi forums, and I suspect my question is common, so here's this, for my '03 Mits Eclipse. I know that when the battery and brake idiot lights come on together, it means the alternator is not...

    Axle or Wheel Bearing Issue

2003 Escalade, AWD. When turning left, there is a rhythmic rub/bind noise . . . rub, rub, rub, rub, rub . . . . that goes away when not turning left. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    2003 Escalade Rear Shocks

When our 2000 Yukon rear air shocks shot craps, we had heavy duty non-air shocks put on. We need to do that on our 2003 Escalade now. AWD. What non-air, HD shocks would you recommend. TIA

    2000 Yukon Maintenance Question

We have a 2000 Yukon with 225,000 miles that we have had since new. I have done the normal routine stuff . . . regular oil changes, tires rotating and balancing, new shocks. But, I'm wondering about the coolant and the transmission fluid. Should they be changed? You don't hear much about...
