What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Well, turns out my trucks won't get started until this weekend... So it'll be 10 days to 2 weeks from there. I feel like I'm, totally crazy: I miss my truck.

3 bolt vs 4 bolt steering box

Do you have a lift on your Tahoe? That's either causing your rig to eat steering boxes or you have a different suspension problem causing the same effect.

5.3 to 6.0 swap complete... But

I haven't followed the orange, short bed. Just the black one.

Mircophones in roof of Denali making a Humming noise

Those are pretty easy to get from part outs. I don't expect they are expensive, either.

5.3 to 6.0 swap complete... But

I post the YouTube link often. Was not aware he picked up speed. I just know he had too much final drive ratio with 4.56s, and switched back to his 3.42 (if memory serves correctly). He really needs a 6 speed or 8 speed to take full advantage of his beast. He runs out of gears too fast.

    Has it failed yet? :laughing1:

    Whining Noise From Speakers/Amp

I can't give you the technical terms -- I just know what is needed. The audio guys, at a minimum, will point and laugh! That said, there are inline devices you can buy -- or build -- that block certain frequencies. I'm not sure you can do it at the resistor level (power line). An inline...

5.3 to 6.0 swap complete... But

You ain't felt nothin' 'til you drive with an Allison. My Duramax has the 6 Speed. It shifts like butter. It is AMAZING!

4L80E into 01-06 Yukon XL Denali

This isn't EXACTLY an apples to apples comparison, but I think it will get you where you want to go. I grabbed the whole play list, but you will want to focus on 2nd and 3rd installments. The Ugly Truck Complete Build Series

    2003 GMC Yukon Denali XL

Could also be a bad ground, bad positive coming off the alternator, or an alternator dying. The first ground to check would be the one near the driver's side door. Clean it and reinstall it and see if that helps.

    Replacement Ignition Key

Yes, or you can go to a dealership and have them cut a key via your VIN. You will need proof of ownership, and I think it cost me $40 or so.

    2004 Yukon Cranks Won't Start

Especially the ground behind the engine on the passenger side. If you know enough, take a look at the ECU connections, in the engine bay. One or more wires there could be rusty/be rusted through.

    How do I fix this?!

If you want to skip the headache, a reputable stereo shop wouldn't charge a lot to fix it. And if you were buying an aftermarket stereo they might throw in the fix with the price of radio installation.

5.3 to 6.0 swap complete... But

I have a 2003 Sierra Denali with a 4l65e and 4.10s. It is by far the highest accelerating, best driving truck we have. I have a 2004 Silverado 2500 that was never reprogrammed for oversized tires, so it is a dog off the line ($l80e/3.73s). I have a 2005 Suburban 2500 with the 4l80e and 3.73...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Please report back with the shop you like, and/or the estimate. I have a truck I might fix yet. And thank you!

Late Game Transmission Fluid Change Rumors or Fact?

Thank you for the explanation. Essentially, a flush is good for your transmission, unless it is already on the way out: i.e. If you have larger than expected particles in there already.

    Whining Noise From Speakers/Amp

If it gets worse as you accelerate, then you are experiencing feedback from the alternator. You probably should put a filter in anyway, but if you know the alternator has problems, you should likely replace that first. Believe it or not, an alternator that is on its way out can reduce MPGs by...

5.3 to 6.0 swap complete... But

Keep in mind the 4l80e is geared significantly different from a 4l60e/4l65e. That means the power curve is going to be different. If you switch to a 4l80e, you may want to regear it, too. My daughter's 2003 Sierra Denali (LQ4 6.0) has its original 4l65e in it. But we do take really good care of it.

    Electrical Problems!!

You might also have your alternator tested. To me, this sounds like an Alternator on the way out.

Late Game Transmission Fluid Change Rumors or Fact?

Nick, Can you please speak to this: "When flushing the transmission, you can cause particulates that had settled in one or more places to become free, and it is these particulates that do in your transmission." I really don't have a dog in this hunt, but it sure would be nice to hear from a...

Good bye tape player 2001 Tahoe

Wouldn't that fit at the back of the center console, where the radio controls are? Just wondering, your setup looks good.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Got my two trucks to the builder today. In about 2 weeks, I should get them back; one to sell, one to enjoy.

"No one will put parking dents in my truck anymore and say it wasn't her." <-- you odds are better, but there are still those parking lot Karens, no? Sorry for your pain, sir. I hope things continue to improve for you.
