    No, I think the problem is that the GM owners manual is confusing with its symbols. Unfortunately, I believed what I read.

    That sounds like forward collision alert. Adaptive cruise will follow the vehicle in front and slow you down to match the speed of the vehicle in front of you. With mist adaptive cruise control, you can nest the following distance which will also have the effect of determining how sensitive it is.

    That is not the adaptive cruise control button. That is the button for the Forward Collision Alert. If equipped with adaptive cruise control, the button would be in the same spot, but with a slightly different illustration that shows one car following another, but not hitting the car in front.

    If I still had three kids at home, a pickup would not work for the reasons you stated. For that matter, an ICE pick up is not as versatile for travel. The game changer for me is the frunk and 300 mile range which will get me to most of my destinations where I can recharge before coming home...

    Having had a 2008 Suburban, my initial reaction to the 2015 Suburban was that the front was ugly. Then like a lot of things, I got used to it and it was not so bad. I suspect in a year or so, the look of the current generation will grow on us.
