No. No transmission work yet. Now that it's at 180K, that service comes next. I wanted to do the oil pan gasket and o-ring myself first. Now on to the transmission shop for servicing. It been serviced every 30K. May do the servo upgrade, need to research more first.
I finally got around to dropping my oil pan to change out the o-ring in the oil pump pick up tube. As reported earlier in this thread, I was experiencing low oil pressure (~10 psi idling in gear and ~20 psi in nutural) when the engine was cold and once it got up to operating temperature, no...
Sounds like a bad amp. When I was troubleshooting my bad amp I found using a test speaker with probes helpful. Test each output channel directly off the amp and if you confirm some working and some not, then it is a bad amp. Good luck.
There may be a hybrid test procedure buried in the quote above. Could simply try 0w30 on next oil change and if that solves oil pressure issues, I would think it confirms an o-ring problem.
Food for thought. I found this on the GM Truck forum last night. I found it interesting enough to share here. (Posted by some other guy, not me)
Start guote.
"I had similar issue with my 2005 Suburban 1500 270k miles. On cold starts, the oil pressure was very slow to rise and would cause the...
I was wondering the same thing about the o-ring test. I highly suspect my low oil pressure issues are due to my O-ring but if possible, I would like to confirm with a test before dropping the oil pan. Is the recommended procedure 2 qt overfill plus incline if possible? And has it been used...
I am very interested in what you find changing out the o-ring. Mine is basically doing the same thing. Repeatable low oil pressure on low engine temps. Just the opposite of what it should be. Been watching for about 6 months now. The oil press will drop below 20 psi until it hits operating temp...
As you may already know, the UQS system is a 9 channel 5.1 surround sound system. Where the UQA is a 6 channel system. The 4th plug on the amp (J4) is for the surround sound channel inputs to the amp. The inputs come from the Radio and the RSA (rear seat audio) Module. You need to reference the...
Mine has done the exact same thing 5 or 6 times over the past two years I have owned my 08 LTZ. Definitely going to watch this thread and routinely lube the brackets.
Sorry, but not really. There is no plug and play solution. The wiring harness in the dash is different for the LUX and Premium systems and depending on truck or SUV, the body wiring harness for the speakers is different. As for the HU, the only difference is the programming. The Denali LUX HU...
Logan,
You are most welcome. Glad to see the information is helpful and being used by others. Below is my attempt to answer your questions.
1st Question: I have no idea what this extra wire is for. I have not seen it in any of the 2007-2013 wiring diagrams I have reviewed. I checked another...
Bill,
I have been racking my brain about what could be causing your problem. I am at a loss. It is either your head unit or something to do with how you wired your rear speakers. For my SUV, the rear door speakers and the d-pillar speakers fade together as rear speakers even though they are...
Not crazy about the design but the outlet would be the side just as your instructions said. Since the demister pads are so small the design is using gravity and flow direction change (180 degrees) to assist in oil separation.
Second thoughts. I guess it depends on the separator design. A baffle design may come off the side. A demister design would come off top. Open can design would come off top.
I would be willing to bet you have the Lux amp since you have the center channel. You can call your local GMC parts counter and give them the last 8 digits of your VIN and they can tell you the part number of your amp and if it is a Y91 Lux amp or not. Also inside your glove box there should be...
Yes, there is a plastic retainer inside the connector. If you look close at the connector itself, it will come apart in two or three pieces. You can completely or partially take it apart and the pins will come out. I found this method eaiser than the paper clip method.
Bill,
You are correct that it should have worked (front speakers only) if the head unit indeed needs no reprograming. From what I understand, the prem and lux amps work totally different with different input levels from the head unit. I would think your head unit needs to know which amp it is...
William,
Glad to know someone may benefit from me sharing this upgrade. The P/N of the Denali Y91 Console Wiring Harness that I used is 13596837 and it was removed from a 2008 Denali XL. If the harness is from a Denali with the same rear seat radio and DVD set-up as yours, it should work just...
I thought you may have been referring to Active Noise Control (ANC). However, ANC is very different than Vehicle Noise Control (VNC). Depending on the Bose Amp you have, you may have one or the other. The UQA systems (2.0 Bose Amps with 3 connections) have VNC with one MIC in the console (ie...
