    That LS7 Cam sure looks like to have more potential for HP Gains. I was also told that there is no tuning required if you use a LS7 cam in a 5.3.

    IIRC a LS7 cam has the same values as a stock 5.3 Cam. the difference is the LS7 never had AFM.

    I am going to finish my project by going to either a whipple or pro charger. add 45 injectors, long tube headers, 4l80 Tranny. So far I have replaced the oil pump, did the DOD/AFM delete, Added a Low Lift Cam. And used ARP Bolts. My Goal is 450 HP at the wheels.

    Just remember that disabling the DOD is a good thing but you still have the failure portion still in the motor ie: dod lifters

    If you want to delete the AFM, Install LS7 Lifters and a LS7 Cam. Call Texas Speed, They have a complete kit for almost a 1k and they can also do delete tune as well. I chose to have mine tuned on a dyno. Luckily my son works at a performance shop so I got free labor.

    From what I understand all LS motors have AFM except those with a manual tranny...as in a Camaro. I also thought fleet models were exempt but according to my sources they too were equip with AFM. So basically anything with a automatic transmission had AFM (V8 motors)

    From what I have read when you tune a vehicle you leave a foot print of the tune. I use EFI Live on my Duramax but it is way out of warranty plus the changes wasn't made until the past couple of years. From my understanding if their is evidence of a tune any motor warranty is denied.

    I replaced the oil sending unit on my Tahoe by reaching way back and getting a socket on it and replacing it. Took 15 minutes to do it. It is a Pain but doable
