Right now it's just annoying. I also worry that I will wait too long and it will destroy the engine. But as of now it's not giving me any codes. You also can't feel it in throttle. There is no misfire or anything. Just ticking noise off and on. (Loud enough that we can here it in the front...
Here is a picture. I cleaned out the push rods and added a little oil. For now the ticking is gone. Time will tell. I did not rotate the motor to check for play. There wasn't any play in the rockers without rotating the motor but I'm not sure if that means anything.
I want to use motor flush on my 07 Tahoe with 5.3 active fuel management engine. But I have had somebody tell me that using motor flush on AFM engines hurts them or causes problems. Is this true? Has anyone used a motor flush on these? What was the outcome?
I didnt explain myself well. Sorry. I meant I bought the Tahoe 2000 miles ago. I changed the oil 200 miles ago. It helped the engine not make the noise for about a week then started again
I have only changed the oil once since I got the vehicle. (I got it 2000 miles ago). But it wasn't doing it when I got it. ( or I didn't drive it long enough to notice). But I have noticed it does it less or not even at all when the weather is a over 70 degrees

I have an 07 Tahoe with the 5.3. I have a ticking sound coming from the drivers side of the engine every now and then. It starts up after being on the highway for 20 min and goes away after a little but I think I have narrowed it down to a dirty lifter. As of now the engine still runs smooth and...
The main issue with mine is stopping the air leaks. So I am leaning more towards converting the system to coil with Arnotts conversion kit. For now the ride quality isnt bad so I will probably wait till it gets bad then convert the system.
My 07 Tahoe LTZ has 190,000 miles on it with the original 5.3 engine and original transmission. I am curious how many miles are on everyone else's vehicles and if they still have original equipment.
I bought my 07 Tahoe LTZ 3 months ago. The airbags on the rear shocks were shot. I have been having trouble getting the air hose to seal up with the new shocks. The hoses are good but if they barely move or I put weight in the rear of the truck it starts to leak again. I am just about sick of...
