    Side Mirror Upgrade/Replace

I upgraded to DL3 mirrors on my '00 XL. To get the power fold and turn signals to work, I had to get the power fold module from an Esky and run 4 extra wires to each mirror. Two for the fold and two for the signals. Follow this link to my build thread, and in one of them I took a picture of...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I looked closely at the wiper arms on the Yukon XL, and I realized the people that had it before me had some work done on it that required the wiper arms to be removed. Want to know how I know? The arms are marked LR and RH. RH is installed on the drivers side, and LH is installed passenger...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

If I remember correctly it's the high mileage semi-synthetic stuff

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Spent about 8 hours on the freeway over the last two days, with about 7k miles on the last oil change. It looks like I got about 18MPG out on freeway with the cruise set to 75 mph. :driver:

    Daytime driving light bulbs

If you go with a brighter incandescent bulb, you'll melt the DRL socket. If you want brighter, you have to use an LED. I switched mine over the LED and they were just a drop-in replacement. If you want the bulbs to look like the yellow-white of incandescent bulbs, just get one that is around...

I’m back with an Esky this time

While you are at it, stick some LED reverse bulbs in like these: http://a.co/d/8hcFYXR A nice, bright LED in the reverse lights makes it so much easier to see behind you when you are backing up. And why not upgrade the front turn signal to LEDs as well. I don't understand why GM didn't put LED...

    W8TVI's 2000 Yukon XL SLT

The Yukon hit 150,000 miles tonight on the way home from work.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Got an oil change... about 7000 miles past when the quick oil change place wanted me to get it. They seemed to think I took good care of the truck. They tested the coolant and said it must have been changed recently. Strange thing is I've only ever had the standard oil/filter/lube job done...

Official 00-06 Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade drop guide with pics...

While I don't care for the look of the missing rear bumper (I guess I'm just use to seeing them with a read bumper), the truck looks very nice. I'd love to see it with black powder coat on those rims!

4WD service on and no indicator lights

I had something similar happen to me last winter when we had a really cold few days. It got to the point where it wouldn't shift out of 2HI. Finally, a couple of days later it got warmer and everything went back to normal, and it worked great the rest of the winter.

Installing a rear view backup camera

I ran the wire in the gap of the rear hatch seal and up the left side: Hardest part was getting a good ground connection. I ended up using the same ground connection that the amp for my subs are using.

    Odd Brake light/cruise control issue

The most likely thing that happened was a blown or missing fuse for the tail lights/cruse control.

LED headlights in stock housings - My Install and feedback

I'm using these in my high beams on my '00 XL: http://a.co/d/9PCwhZl They claim to be 8000 lumen, but I'm guessing they are closer to 3000 lumen a bulb. They are brighter than the HIR 9011 halogens, but not as bright as the 35w HIDs that I have in my low beam projectors (I feel sorry for...

I think you mean, "Hell no."

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

What did I do today? I installed the replacement ballast for my @Vanquish Auto HID headlights. No more blue cast to the passenger side projector. While I was waiting for my replacement to come in, I used one of the old ballasts that was for the $30 HID kit. I found that the cheap ballast made...

    Brake light denali leds

I can't remember if your year truck has the same problem or not, but if you find your cruse control doesn't work anymore, all you have to do is attach a loading resistor across the brake light wires. You only need one, and it doesn't matter what side you put it on. If you decide to go with LED...

    What brand headlights?

I would recommend a set of HIDs from @Vanquish Auto. I had a cheap set of HIDs from amazon, and they were barely better than the stock bulbs. The difference is like night and day with the Vanquish Auto branded HIDs. They are just as bright as the stock projectors that GM is putting in the new...

    Double din stereo

I have a '00 Yukon XL, and I pulled the radio tub and the dash bezel out of an '05 Tahoe and did some trimming to let me install a double-din touch screen radio. I didn't remove the dash brace. The radio is just short enough to fit without cutting it. You MIGHT get lucky and not need to trim...

    Austinite's 2000 NBS Tahoe Ex-Grocery Hauler Build

These are the ones I'm using. They light it up bright enough for the reverse camera to see a good 20 feet behind the truck. Probably the best $20 I've spent on the XL.

    Austinite's 2000 NBS Tahoe Ex-Grocery Hauler Build

What reverse lights do you use in the tails? I'm using some 1200 Lumen LEDs.

LEDs installed for license plate and back-up lights

I have an aftermarket backup camera on my '00 XL, and my 1200 lumen LED reverse lights really help it out at night. Maybe you need brighter LEDs?

Kbuskill's 2008 Burb LTZ "MOD" Thread

A lot of those hitch receiver brake lights cheap out and just connect to one side of the trailer harness. You could make a relatively simple circuit that would fix the problem, but but that would cost a few cents each. I'd personally replace it with a line of fire tailgate light. I'd get...

Rear seat bucket in Yukon XL has slide rails?

There is actually two separate levers (at least on my '00 XL). The one down low lets you slide the seat forward, and the one up high (on the hinge area) that lets it fold down, after you pull the bottom seat up and out of the way, and remove the head rest.
