Ran seafoam through the TB and drove her hard as recommended for 10 minutes. CEL came on blinking after 300 miles on return trip. 41k miles. Checked the code and it was a missfires on more than cyl 8 now. Leaving to move and need to trailer with the suburban so took it to the dealer to let...
I was approaching this the same way you were - but note the rubber is just there to keep the clamp from sliding. So either the rubber or metal clamp can butt up against the white plastic part. You are simply preventing any movement of the plastic part.
Surprisingly it is not a gas economy thing. I'll be moving states and getting a company Colorado truck. I have two car notes now and probably need to improve my debt to income ratio to buy the house in the area where I want to live. I'll check with the mortgage gurus first. Took her on a...
Question - did the dealer go right to the lifter or was this found after doing multiple other diagnostics? How did they get to the lifter being the issue and how much did the diagnostics cost before finding the issue?
I've got a misfire on cyl 8. Tried sraying a can of seafoam into the intake...
Anyone keep their ride as a side boo and if so what do you use it for when you do use it?
I'm close to paying her off and it will be an extra vehicle in my driveway. She isn't a practical daily driver but we love her. Sitting there she is a thief magnet when outside and a garage filler when...
2016 with 40K miles. Was trailering around 4000# on a 1000 mi trip and the check engine light came on. A quick stop at Autozone to check the code and it showed a misfire on cylinder 8. I jiggled the plug wire a bit and after a new tank of gas the light went off. It came on again on the...
Anyone ever get this error C1117 Service Trailer Brake? Google searches make it seem common. Getting the error on my 2016 and now the truck has a sluggish start as if the battery is going bad. Going to do more digging and will update on what I learn.
Edit - research shows that others...
My dad (80) was harassing for me buying such an expensive ride. So I put together a little comparison for him - comparing the family's 1980's Custom Cruiser to my 2016 Suburban.
It will be interesting to see what changes in the next 30-40 years...
2016 suburban here and the rear camera is total junk. It is inexcusable and they or someone should offer a better drop in replacement in this day and age. How many backup bulbs are required? I may go that route.
Yep - reporting back that the hose clamp fix worked and it completely eliminated it. I used some cut up garden hose for the rubber part. The rubber tube piece only purpose is to keep the metal clamps in place. The 2 clamps are what prevents lateral movement of the white pieces along the bar...
My 2016 Suburban drivers seat has started to make noticeable movement during slow turns. A google search got me to Silverado seat movement. There is a TSB but the long term fix appears to be using hose clamps. I'm going to try tomorrow and will let you know if it works long term.
Here is the...
I have a suburban LT and the leather is nice on the seating surfaces but it does wrinkle. I would bet the Denali leather is thicker and the escalade leather is even more thicker and more supple.
Leather seating surfaces should be a sticky here. My wish list is an illustrated guide to what...
Here you go - 176K miles
I plan to run mine until the wheels fall off. So it is great to see these out there. I'm at 30K on 2016 so I've got a long ways to go.
Coming from a 4Runner and looking for a decent 3rd row I cross shopped the LC. The third row swing away configuration and poor gas mileage turned me off right away. The 4runner I traded in had plenty of life left in it but interior-wise I found the creature comforts were drab, depressing and...
I noticed looking at the crack in the front of where the hood in closed position is a bit off in alignment on one side. I took some sidewalk chalk (thanks kids) and used that to help adjust the bumpers where they make contact with the hood contact points. It is still not perfect and the larger...
My Geico rate is so low that sometimes I wonder if I'm properly insured. I am. But I plan to shop to compare and will check out some of the mentioned companies in this post.
I used to do engineering support at a Ford plant. The engineers seemed dysfunctional, frustrated but otherwise okay to deal with. They hated the trades on the floor. And the trades/unions were difficult to work with. Some operators openly slept on the job. Something about Ford just gives me...
Great info thanks -

Hi - it would be helpful to have a sticky covering the oil types and filter model numbers for short and long filters by brand. Also helpful would be to list socket sizes for the plug. Thanks -
