get a k&n from Summit racing. There is a summit brand intake that is made by K&N cheaper than what k&N sells it for.
I have the summit brand and when I got it the intake tube has the K&N logo with a K&N filter.
Make sure you get a kit with an intake tube. A drop in filter wont do much...
it will fit but I wouldnt use it. the stock wheel is too narrow for such a wide tire.
It will pretty much "donut" causing excess wear in the center of the tread.
The BFG's are excellent tires and they seem to last what feels like forever. BUT, they are very expensive as stated above.
Nitto is a great tire and at a great price. Ive had Nitto, BFG's and now running TOYO M/T's.
That being said, when my Toyos run out. Im going back to Nitto
So my A/C has been going crazy lately. What happens is that minutes after you turn the truck on and take off, the drives side goes to HOT like if I had moved the drivers side climate control all the way to HOT.
I have to turn the truck off and then back on for it to go back to COLD. It will...
I was in a similar battle a couple of years ago when i bought mine.
I decided on the Tahoe because of the Z71 kit. I think it looks way better than the Yukon. Body color matched bumpers, nerf bars and fender flares look great.
Also the 4x4 set up was better since it wasnt "AUTOtrack" or...
I have the Rough Country 6" kit, with the steering stabilizer and kicker braces.
Good kit, good ride quality. I do recommend getting aftermarket keys so you can crank the front up more. I maxed out my front and it still needs a bit more up. Still need to buy some.
I have a brand new set of superior axle 4.10 gears with rateck install kit for 8.25" IFS (front diff)
I don't need them because I ended up going 35" tires and 4.56 gears.
This set would be a great upgrade for anyone running 33" tires.
Price is $200 Shipped!!! That's the gears WITH...
looks good.. but your gonna wish you had done the 6" lol
keep the plastics black and colormatch the bumpers and grille to your truck. new headlights and blinkers (something other than stock) and LED tails.
Wheels... 18" aftermarket of your choice and some 33" trail graps
ive heard the NNBS intakes flow just as good as LS6 intakes, but more torque since its for a truck.
Anyone know if there is a difference from the NBS to the NNBS intake??
Ive thought about swapping to the 243 (LS6-truck) heads too, i know those are way better than the stock NBS heads
im getting 12MPG city with my 6" and 35" toyo m/t's
mods are k&N cai, borla exhaust, custom HP tune. im going 4.56 gears and LS1 fans should help pull this fat girl
hey Doug, what cam would you recommend for my 5.3L Z71? Im looking for more torque. been debating about getting the 243...
Do u tow a lot or pull heavy loads in it? That's the only thing I can think of that might case some stress on the axles aside from the bigger tires. 4.56's will be a great upgrade
I don't think there are 6" suspension kits under $1000. If there are, I doubt they're any good. Buy a reputable kit. Lift, tires and wheels aren't cheap. If u can't afford it, don't do it, is what I say.
