    9.5SF Swap

My 2001 came with 3R u-joints. I used the oem shaft, no mod to length, and simply changed the rear u-joint to a 3R to 1350 adapter u-joint. Sorry, I do not recall the part number of the one I used but there are lots available...

    Upgrade transmission recommendations?

The 4L60, with its 3.06/1.62 first & second gears, was designed for use in vehicles that were under powered (V6 & small V8) to meet EEPA standards, and has a max factory torque rating of 360 ft lbs--this rating was increased with 4L65/4L70/4L75 when they figured out how to get performance and...

    Upgrade transmission recommendations?

Yeah, don't I wish. If I could squeeze "a comprehensive idea of all the details that need to come together" into a couple sentences, I would've...but once it gets going it seems to spiral.

    Upgrade transmission recommendations?

As above, and add a little tweak/mod for the cooler lines or buy the HD model replacements, like I did. Honestly, this conversion has been done so many times now that you can buy everything needed for a bolt-in. PCM of NC has an adapter harness that allows you to not even have to move any wires...

Why do people convert TO a PPV?

MY father was a "bare bones" vehicle kinda guy...AC was the only upgrade he would ever spend for. I understand wanting the suspension & brake upgrades of the PPV, but I like the creature comforts too much to buy a strip down version. To each their own...

    Upgrade transmission recommendations?

A cautionary tale... I was where you are 15 years ago, with an injured 4.8L that I needed to address and a "wish list" of power upgrades that I figured were far enough out that I could get away with a "good for now" transmission. There is nothing wrong with the FLT Level 4 4L60 and Yank TT2600...

    Worth it????

If it is dropping that much oil I'd have my "Indie" do a compression/leak down test. Then you would know if it is getting through the rings/guides, or a cylinder pushing through a bad head gasket. If you still have good compression and no leak down, consider re-torquing the head bolts (following...

Growing up doesn't have to suck

Thanks for the follow up...I found what you're talking about but you probably replied and I didn't refresh the page before editing my post. Good to know that 25847739 fits both sides...it's the cheaper of the two.

Growing up doesn't have to suck

Okay, a little more research answered my question but caused another. In 2008 the H3 came with the "Alpha" option and a 5.3L V8. GM shows part numbers for mounts are 25847738 for left & 25847739 for right. Hey iamdub, do you happen to have the part numbers for those H3 motor mounts handy? I'm...
