As above, and add a little tweak/mod for the cooler lines or buy the HD model replacements, like I did. Honestly, this conversion has been done so many times now that you can buy everything needed for a bolt-in. PCM of NC has an adapter harness that allows you to not even have to move any wires...- ls1yukon

Why do people convert TO a PPV?
MY father was a "bare bones" vehicle kinda guy...AC was the only upgrade he would ever spend for. I understand wanting the suspension & brake upgrades of the PPV, but I like the creature comforts too much to buy a strip down version. To each their own...- ls1yukon

A cautionary tale... I was where you are 15 years ago, with an injured 4.8L that I needed to address and a "wish list" of power upgrades that I figured were far enough out that I could get away with a "good for now" transmission. There is nothing wrong with the FLT Level 4 4L60 and Yank TT2600...- ls1yukon

If it is dropping that much oil I'd have my "Indie" do a compression/leak down test. Then you would know if it is getting through the rings/guides, or a cylinder pushing through a bad head gasket. Okay, a little more research answered my question but caused another. In 2008 the H3 came with the "Alpha" option and a 5.3L V8.
