    Lifted/Leveled 2021 - Postem Up

That stance looks fantastic. Does the Z71 trim have an option for those 22s, or are they from a LTZ?

    Opinions: 3.73 or 4.10 gears?

I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm glad I bought when I did because now the market for 2500 Suburbans is insane, especially for GMT900s. I bought mine for $16500 (2010 w/ 126k miles bought in 2018) and now, I'd probably be able to sell it for more than I bought it for, nearly 4 years and 35k...

    Opinions: 3.73 or 4.10 gears?

Still runs great with 160k miles! It spends most of its time in the garage these days thanks to gas prices though. I have some maintenance that I've been putting off, need to drain/fill the transmission fluid and change the filter, and change all ball joints/tie rod ends. Someday I'll get around...

    Opinions: 3.73 or 4.10 gears?

Ha, back from the dead! When I wrote this in 2016 I had a 2009 1500 w/ 3.42s. I've since traded it for a 2010 2500 with 3.73s. Thanks all for the replies. I'm happy with the 3.73s on my 2500 at the moment.

GM better come up with something better than their current engine lineups

All I have to add is that I'm surprised Toyota is keeping the Sequoia around. I truly thought they would axe it due to extremely low sales.

When will we see lift kits?

Yeah, it's unfortunate but a lot of buyers only care about the looks of a lifted truck, not the components. They know their audience. If I've learned one thing in a decade of owning Suburbans and various other body on frame trucks, it's that you get what you pay for when you buy this stuff -...

When will we see lift kits?

I'm sure some of you have seen this, but I came across this video the other day: He doesn't mention the lift height but it looks like 6" with 35s. Looks like there's even more room in there to stuff some bigger tires in.

    Ok 2.5” installed

I used to have a 1500 with a 2" leveling kit. I wish I had a picture, but as I recall my CV angles were somewhere around 15 degrees, perhaps a little more. They looked safe, but I wouldn't have wanted an angle any higher without swapping out the UCAs for longer ones. That's the reason I decided...

    Suburban off road?

Nothing much more than fire roads. It's too large and heavy for anything more technical, unless you don't care about dents and scrapes (I do). I'd like to get a beat up but mechanically sound GMT400 Suburban 2500 to take down trails and not have to worry about scraping it up.

    Future 2020/21 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban

Pretty cool. I think this same IRS system will eventually make its way to the next gen Silverado/Sierra 1500. GM seems to have put a lot of R&D into it.

    Future 2020/21 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban

I don't hate it. In fact, I think it'll age well. Still bitter about the IRS and killing the column shifter though. I suppose we'll have to wait for the configurator to go online, but does anyone know if any trims will be offered with wheels smaller than 20"? Even the Z71 at the reveal looks to...

    2021 Finally Spied

They kind of have to. I watched an interview a few months ago with a spokesperson for the new Silverado - He said that Chevy and GMC were trying to create distinct design languages that could be shared across all the pickups, SUVs, and crossovers in their lines. That's why the 2020 Acadia has...

Anyone else had issues with Ranch Hand rust?

Mine was rusting slightly in the same spots. I took some Rustoleum Rust Reformer, sprayed it in a cup, got a q-tip, and dabbed it on the rusting areas. It's been fine ever since. Besides that, I'm pretty pleased with the guard. Fit was perfect. Shame to hear that they're not responsive to you.

Think I'm trading Yukon Denali for Navigator.

A few things I don't like about the Expedition/Navigator... - The design is only a few years old and somehow it already looks outdated - The only way to get an actual transfer case (rather than an AWD diff) is to get the FX4 or tow package in the Expedition. I don't believe it's possible in the...

Did you hit 300k yet? :D

How many miles does your vehicle have on it?

I had a mystery oil leak on my 09 1500 from 100k all the way until I sold it at 165k. Never leaked enough for me to look too far into it. I always figured it was the oil pan gasket though.

Do I need better than OEM brakes on Suburban 2500

I don't think you need new rotors. I have the stock rotors with ceramic pads and they feel pretty strong to me. I haven't towed more than a few thousand lbs, and I haven't towed down a mountain yet, but I wouldn't hesitate to do it at all. By the way, welcome. Always good to have another GMT900...

    Future 2020/21 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban

I think it's kind of the opposite... due to the response to the Silverado, they're diverting resources away from the Tahoe/Yukon and putting them towards improving the interiors on the pickups for 2020/2021. Makes much more sense for them, anyway - pickups sell much, much more and they must...

    Ride quality

I recently put Bilstein 5100s on my 2500. I wasn't quite expecting a night and day difference, and I didn't get it. I did notice a marginal improvement in ride quality especially with the rear being less squirrely. You'd probably get better results on a 1500.

    Future 2020/21 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban

I think I posted this position earlier in the thread, but I'm gonna post it again since the IRS discussion is renewed. There are a few things that bother me about the upcoming Tahoe's IRS. 1. GM has been dominating the segment for decades with a solid rear. I don't know if they're worried...

    Future 2020/21 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban

The New York International Auto Show is April 19-28. There's the possibility of a reveal during that, but I bet that GM will wait until later in the year. For example, the San Antonio Auto & Truck Show in November.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I posted this to the facebook group but thought it would be worth sharing here too. Remember to take off your lower door weatherstrip and clean underneath every once in awhile. I found some nasty stuff under there.

Suburban 2500 or Yukon XL Denali?

In your case I would go with the Denali. It will handle your trailer well with the mods you have planned. But more importantly, for the 90% of the time you're not towing, you'll appreciate the better ride of the half ton platform and the extra power/better mpg of the 6.2. The L96/LY6 6.0 is not...

White color choices for ‘16 suburban

White diamond tricoat was discontinued for the 16 or 17 model year, I believe, and replaced with irridescent pearl tricoat (Chevy)/white frost tricoat (GMC). WDT has more of a goldish hue in the right light, while IPT/WFT looks bright white in nearly any light. I used to have a white diamond...
