I agree 100%. I spent 28 years in the software and hardware industry, at the highest level of server consulting and support - and had a 100% success rate of production database, messaging and storage support history across multiple industries.
The difference between me and colleagues with career...
So you will be able to integrate the radio controls into the steering wheel and the color popup touch screen into the dash?
How about rear A/C controls in center console?
Rear window controls?
Trailer brake option?
Mirror turn signals? I got the folding part to work, but not the turn signals...
FWIW, my OEM dual battery 2015 PPV (I know, I know - different year, spec & model) did the exact same thing.
Remote start fine but no key start.
It turned out to be a battery issue. Replaced the primary battery and the issue was resolved.
However as I also only use the remote start I ended up...
I sent a buddy over to the forum and he said all the pics are gone.
Sorry about that, I will try find them and upload again.
On a positive note, truck is at 60,000 miles and we still love everything about it.
I was going though the shed on the weekend and found the PPV wheels.
Anyone want...
What I did was extend the PPV USB to the USB in the center console and the 110V power outlet to the 110V power outlet on the rear of the center console.
Brett is spot on. And because of the fleet purchase path it is not possible to buy these vehicles without the discount.
I tried. I was willing to pay sticker to get a 2015 PPV built to order, but eventually GM asked for the department PO# or badge number to get the build on the schedule - of...
OK - so they figured out all the steps then.
In 2015 when I spoke to MVI they had not yet done a PPV iO3 to iO6 upgrade but figured it should be relatively simple.
$2K sounds about right, I seem to recall GM parts alone was about $1800.00, so figure at least another $500+ for the custom pieces...
Perhaps the gentleman is one of the qualified class :)
LEO, Firefighter/VFD, EMT or Game Warden. These are all qualifying professions.
If not, please let me know your dealer as I will be placing an order for a 2018 as a civilian as well. :)
The real advantage is the active handling, ABS, TC, shifting and power steering programming the PPV has. The cost and hassle may not net the same gains. But as a start try one of the online GM parts re-sellers.
Check for PPV/SSV unique part numbers and components.

Day to day in city driving - it is comfortable for what it provides - very sure footed handling. It drives like a high performance sedan would with a sprots suspension versus the land yacht suspension you get with the stock truck.
On the freeway it is a sure footed long distance bruiser.
I...
This is true for new trucks that are built to order, but anything already on a dealers lot is fair game - zero mile or used.
Advantages? lower price, better handling, lower weight, lower ride height improved brakes, better suspension - faster out of the box, way faster due to aggressive shift...
I have 43,000 miles of daily driving on the GY's (2nd set already) and the ride quality is comparable with any large high performance sedan.
The pursuit rating of the tires carries across all performance envelopes.
The GY tires simply brake, corner and handle better than none high speed rated...
Thanks for the kind words.
Yeah, I just haven't bothered pursuing the solution for the disco lights. Its only the rear (center) lights that occasionally flash when I press the brake pedal and most of my night driving is on the freeway with only me in the truck.
I need to get it done, and I...
Good to see a dedicated PPV/SSV sub-forum.
These trucks (especially the PPV) don't get the love they deserve. People seem to only view them as a cheap entry into a Tahoe as a used fleet vehicle hand-me-down from the local constabulary.
In reality the 2015+ PPV is a fantastic performance truck...
Thanks - the Maggie option is always tempting hehe :)
I know the local SCCA chapter allows the PPV at cone carver Autocross events. Never asked MSR if they would let the PPV on the road course.
Thanks - we turned 42,000 miles old this weekend. Loved every mile. The only real pain is the random disco lights from the interior lights. Other than that no real complaints 2 years in.
This truck is a fantastic distance cruiser. With good quality e85 it has no trouble cruising at *cough* 80...
I messed up the 2nd post - it is complete now. May help explain the method in my madness a bit better :)
I wanted the space and utility of a GM SUV but not the top heavy tip over non-sporty ride of a GM SUV. I looked into starting with an LT or LTZ and beefing it up, but it was cheaper and...
Made the last few cosmetic changes.
LTZ rear bumper step cover.
Chrome LTZ fog light eye brows and fog lights.
Black anti-deer-at-night bars.
LTZ front bumper valance.
I think the truck now looks the part. Semi-blacked out with a touch of dazzle
A 10 month follow-up.
I. LOVE. THIS . TRUCK.
I like how stable and sure footed it is. No wallowing, it stops hard and it is a hoot on the freeway. The ride is harsher than an LS, LT or LTZ but I enjoy my Corvette as well so a stiffer ride does not bother me. The Katzkinz seats are...
