Brake issues after new front calipers

Quick update, did some additional bleeding and braking has been perfect this week during commute. No more pulling to the right while braking and temps are even from side to side on front and rear.

Brake issues after new front calipers

I might give that a try. I never seem to have much luck with the suction approach at the caliper. This seems like a better approach.

Brake issues after new front calipers

Kept fluid in it. I do have a tech 2 clone, just not familiar with the abs bleed procedure, so I haven't gone down that road yet.

Brake issues after new front calipers

I hate doing brakes and generally leave it to those who know what they are doing, but decided to take on changing out front rotors, reman calipers, and pads on my own along with flushing. Long story short, it took me a while to get the brakes bled doing the 2 person method. Right now, with the...

    Trans over temp issue

Before I added the cooler I'd hit 190's on 90+ days if I hit some stop and go traffic without even towing. Never saw over 200 that I recall though. With the line issue, I hit 250 without towing and no check engine light. Had I not been watching it on the display, I'd probably not have even...

    Trans over temp issue

I've got 3.42 gears as I searched for at least that when I bought it. As I understand it, I'm engine oil cooler (different radiator) and upgraded cooling fans away from K5L yet. I wanted some extra trans cooling in case I get stuck in stop and go traffic with a boat headed back from the cabin...

    Trans over temp issue

Shop found one of the new lines was collapsing while running. Replaced that line and now temps are good and the cooler is hot to touch as one would expect.

    Trans over temp issue

Sounds like you are thinking about the engine oil cooler, that is still blocked off. I had the transmission cooler lines replaced and added the auxillary trans cooler in front of the radiator that comes with the K5L cooling package.

    Trans over temp issue

My 09 5.3L non-K5L with 161k recently had the following work done at a shop: New Delco trans cooling lines as old were leaking Added stock K5L oil cooler as we are planning on getting a boat and I was already changing lines Delco trans fluid change and delco filter change (no flush) as it was...

No start but have power/ Tahoe running and then gages drop

Do you actually have to remove the cable? Can you just wiggle/pull on it some to get it to start?

No start but have power/ Tahoe running and then gages drop

Define no start. Turn key on and no power to anything? Clicking but no crank when turning key to start? Power at key on but turn to start and no clicking? Or cranks and cranks and doesn't start?

Tuning out afm and cam swap question

After my dad had to replace his 07 6.2L at around 150k, I've begun to wonder if this isn't the best long term approach. Is the general consensus around here that the non-AFM 6.2L is as reliable as the 6.0L and 5.3L that run 300k or more in the NBS trucks?

    33s, Gears, and MPG

Thank you. I've read a lot of mixed information on this in my searches. I'll consider going higher.

    33s, Gears, and MPG

I did the same, 56k on my Duelers from when I got it. Got a package deal on new BFG's and some newer LTZ takeoffs. 2in front lift by jlee posted Jul 31, 2018 at 2:47 AM Prelift by jlee posted Jul 31, 2018 at 2:47 AM

    33s, Gears, and MPG

I just went a 2in rough country up front and kept my autoride on my 09 Tahoe. I'm just a little higher in the rear yet when the shocks are pumped. I'm running stock 20's with BFG 285/55r20 which I think are perfect, no trim required but a noticable increase in width and height. I dropped from...

    09 LTZ question.

09 LTZ here also. I have a working autoride which was sitting about 2.5 in higher in rear. I added 2 in lift in front from rough country and now I'm about 3/4 in lower in front per the wheel wells, but it looks perfect if you ask me. I left the autoride sensors where they were and used my...

    2007 Tahoe Loose Steering

I just did this to mine as I was constantly going side to side on the wheel. Only did the big bushing. Between this and an alignment, I track straight without any extra motion. I did notice some leaking inside my boot though, so a reman rack may be in store next time it needs done...

No start but have power/ Tahoe running and then gages drop

Perfect, I agree, a quick check for 60 ohms on your high speed CAN is a worthwhile check. And this gives you the bcm grounds too. Worth finding them and giving them a quick check / cleaning.

No start but have power/ Tahoe running and then gages drop

Hmm. It still sounds like a power/ground issue affecting your bcm. Does your volt guage start dropping when you get the weird stuff going on like mine always did? If so, I think I read on the forum here you can disconnect the sensor in the ground cable to the battery to disable the "smart"...

No start but have power/ Tahoe running and then gages drop

Reason I suggested the cable to the fuse box is the history of issues with the mega fuses (new fuse and block comes with the cable) and you saying that you jiggled the fuse block area to get power back. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0016IXANY?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title

No start but have power/ Tahoe running and then gages drop

I know the feeling. Everytime I thought about ditching mine I kept thinking about all the problems I don't have that are harder to fix and all the maintanance I've already done. So, it sounds like you did a completely new ground cable from battery and a new power from battery to the starter...

No start but have power/ Tahoe running and then gages drop

I'm going on one year now after intermittant issues similar to yours (radio, gauges, locks, traction control, etc). I first changed out the negative battery cable cleaning the grounds really well. Then I had issues months later and changed the positive cable to the fuse box along with the mega...
