Personally, I really like the Vader Chrome, but it's only available with the six-figure rig. Too bad. Having that on a 20-inch base Denali would be a good option for me, especially with the Duramax.
What ticked me off was when an upper level GMC manager was crowing about how much higher the average transaction price was recently. This was right after releasing the Ultimate version of the Yukon and Sierra, which is a ridiculous markup for what is added.
Whether it's legitimate reason or not, higher labor costs will be used as a justification for raising what are already excessively high MSRPs for these rigs.
Truth. I think that the transmission cooling with the trailing package I added when I ordered the rig helped, especially driving through the desert. Minimal trailering and I've babied it for the last 8 years or so. No summer desert runs. Same engine as well, for the same reasons.
If you do a search in MI, especially through CarGurus, you'll find many dealers who are advertising their Yukons at employee pricing. I've inquired with one of them to confirm that, and they told me they were favoring local buyers. May not be so with them all, though.
The $ GMC wants for the upgrades to Ultimate aren't worth it IMO. Until I see some significant competition in the marketplace for these rigs, this 40+ year GM truck owner isn't going to pay this kind of money for what we get.
The off-road versions of the Silverado/Sierra previously offered a Duramax option. Haven't heard that the LZ0 version of the Duramax included a redesign of the intercooler that Steebu mentioned. Unless there is a redesign of the front end for the SUV mid-cycle, I'm not holding out a lot of...
Was fishing for a Yukon in MI and a dealer responded that were receiving limited units compared to demand due to chip manufacturing issues (still). Due to the limited units they were sticking to local folks to sell or lease, which is expected. But in the meantime they are getting full MSRP or...
I've be driving Chevy/GMC truck (happily) since 1981. While my 2001 Yukon is running fine, I'm in the right frame of mind to pick up a well-loaded Yukon with a Duramax. But I refuse to get taken. Instead, I've been looking at well-discounted Grand Cherokees since my wife and I are empty...
You're going to see a hit this winter anywhere that uses fuel oil. Most heavier distillates are going to that instead of diesel, thus the higher price. Tough to prognosticate on next winter. I'm a real fan of the baby duramax. I'd probably have a new Yukon today if I could get one in an AT4.
