    Cadillacs use the LQ9 6.0 HO. They require premium. Yes, the knock sensors will scale back the timing advance on 87 octane to a degree. If you get a tune, Black Bear says to use 93. I can perceive a difference in performance between 91 & 93.

    Problem solved! There are 4 legs behind the airbag. The top 2 had been bent inward, causing the horn/airbag to be very loose. Once the legs were straightened, the horn/airbag was tight again and no more random honking. I must have laid on the horn pretty hard at some point.

    What year is your 5.3? Is it a flex fuel? Around 2004ish, only the flex fuel 5.3 had a fuel return line. That is why I had to use my 2004 5.3 intake assembly on my 2005 6.0 HO. Also, non-flex fuel 4.8, 5.3 & 6.0s have 25 lb/hr injectors. 5.3 flex fuel injectors are around 36 lb/hr. I used...

    The dude that replaced my steering wheel switches did remove the air bag (whole center module), but that was months before this started. He had a special tool to release the latches.

    The kit looks nice, but sort of pricey. The adjustable arms would help you dial in your pinion angle after a lift. The adjustable track bar would also help re-center the axle after a lift. I would use this kit if I had at least 4" of lift.

    From what I understand, the 4L60 does not have the strength (torque rating) to live a long happy life behind a 6.0. GM beefed up the 4L60E to slightly increase the torque rating for the 4L65E. Later 4L60E had most of the 4L65E upgrades.

    I'm glad you got it running. I have the mid-pipes (w/cats) off a 2004 Yukon Denali (LQ4) and there is only one cat on each side. Does the 2500 have two on the passenger side? By the way, my passenger side cat is tripping the CEL for low efficiency. I am looking for another used one.
