2015 Yukon Denali replacement brake parts recommendations

Another vote for PowerStop Z36 kit. Have them on my 2015 and they are great. OEM kept warping for me. These have not.

2015 Yukon SLT - Sunroof No Power

I had this same nonsense going on. I noticed some burnt residue by the sunroof switch too. I ordered a new switch. Number 8 fuse on driver side still blowing out. It would work until I opened the console. I popped the console lid inner cover off and also removed the console rear panel...

Don’t forget to flush your brake system - 3yrs or 45k

I tow and I do brake aggressively, so brakes running hot.

Don’t forget to flush your brake system - 3yrs or 45k

DOT 3. I may use 4 next time and see if that stays cleaner longer

Don’t forget to flush your brake system - 3yrs or 45k

OP again. Just flushed at all four wheels today. It gets so dirty so fast…. 130k (30k interval) and about 1.5 years since last service.

Changed my filter and fluid on 8l90 8 speed today

OP again. Changed again today (fluid and filter) at 130k…. 31k on the fluid. It was still pretty red and not much paste on the magnets. Also, added the SureCool thermostat to lower trans temps. Good stuff!

I made it! 2015 Yukon XL Denali, , 300,000 miles

Hey tuffguy, at what mileage did you swap out the trans thermostat for the colder one? I was contemplating this, but not sure worth it at 120k miles. Thanks

I made it! 2015 Yukon XL Denali, , 300,000 miles

How many miles on trans when you put the cooler thermostat on it? I forgot I had the radiator/ heat cycling crack issue as well. I’d like to keep it to 200k-250k, but not sure I want all those repairs to continue. I’m sure I’ll need another set of shocks, prob some wheel hubs, control arms...

I made it! 2015 Yukon XL Denali, , 300,000 miles

Awesome! I am at 120k on my 2015 Denali. Lifter replaced about 75k, new trans at 15k, couple fuel pumps, MRC shocks, 2 gps antennae, condensor, trans temp sensor and some other stuff all under warranty. I’ve replaced trans fluid every 45k Diffs and Transfer case oil 2x Plugs and wires at...

2016 Yukon hesitation on acceleration - no codes

Yeah I get it. It’s frustrating. I did wires and plugs at 76k. They looked good - posted pics in this site. It seemed to run more smoothly after that, but could be placebo effect.

2016 Yukon hesitation on acceleration - no codes

But you said it hesitates when revviing in Park too - is that trans related? On my 2015, if I goose it in park, it kinda stalls for a quick fraction of a second. Almost like it’s getting not enough fuel. It’s always done that as far as I know. May due to the idle being set to low?

2016 Yukon XL Needs New Transmission - Not Happy

Fuel pump was covered, injector failed after the lifter repair- so they acknowledged that and fixed it as good will.. they caused it.

    Removing transmission pan

I have done my 2015 Yukon (8l90) twice and did not have to move or remove anything. If you turn the front of the unbolted pan (front is front of car)toward the passenger side, it slides out without issue.

Maybe, but after 100k miles and 7 years I would think they are a lil deformed.

    Service Brake Assist Message

I was mistaken, that was for another error message I had - they replaced 3/4 sensors that time. For the one you have, they put in a new neg battery cable for me. I was getting constant service brake system lights ans others . The pedal felt funny and would pulse a little. Invoice below …

Oil for 5.3L to reduce consumption

last 2 oil changes I moved from 0w20 to 5w30. About 10k miles this way so far. I have 117k on my truck and wanted to run thicker oil in the summer. I’ll go back to 0w20 for fall and winter. 0w20 is for sure fine and GM spec, I’m just goofy and want a little thicker oil for summer heat.

    Updated Thermal Control Valve

I plan to do this on my 8l90. Does the kit come with new cooler line o-rings? I have the plate and bolt style thermostat. If not, Anton elbow tha part number on those 2 o-rings? I was not able to search those on GM Parts Direct or other sites with the expanded parts diagrams. Thanks!

Fluids! Clear the confusion. What are you using?

Don’t overthink it, just get fresh fluid in it. Used Amsoil 75w90 on both. Have changed it twice: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/2015-yukon-change-both-diffs-oil-and-transfer-case-fluid-early-on.94453/#post-1571591 Trans needs new fluid. Did mine at 45k, 84k, 100k...

    Brake upgrade comparisons/suggestions

Before spending thousands on a kit, why not try the PowerStop Z36 rotors and pads? I tow a boat and trailer - approx 5500lbs. I burned through 2 sets of AC Delco PPV rotors in 60k miles - they warp. So I decided to try the Z36 rotors and pads, they grab great and time will tell if they last...
