If you have 3 pedals on the floor and there's a big lever on the floor (between the seats and just behind the dash), it's a manual transmission. You have to shift this yourself. If there's a lever on the steering column and only 2 pedals on the floor, it's an automatic transmission. This will...
Eric70---Not yet. I'm just starting to seriously look. I guess I'll see where the great deal is. If it's a Denali, I'll go for it. If it's a Tahoe, that's where I'll go.
Izcain---Good idea about watching the current owner drive the truck but wouldn't it only work if it was the original owner?
I'd do functional mods (HIDs, stereo...but not a "system", better brakes, etc) while I'm making payments. Mods for looks only (fancy tail lights, exhaust tips, aftermarket wheels) should wait until it's paid for.
With all that stuff wrong with it, it HASN'T been "well taken care of". I'm on my 2nd S 10 based SUV ('96 2 door Jimmy and my current '04 4 door Blazer). I traded off my Jimmy with 171k miles and the only thing it needed was a speed sensor. My Blazer has a few misc issues but nothing as major...
There's a reason for that. The first few wipes clear the windshield. The pause is long enough for the washer fluid that's accumulated above the wipe path to start dripping down. The "extra" wipe should clear that away. I can see where that might be annoying but it makes sense.
I have the same problem on one of the cast aluminum wheels on my '04 Blazer. Everything's been replaced, checked, ground down and tested in a tub of water. The only 2 things the shop said it could be is a tiny crack in the wheel or a porous wheel. I leak down about a pound per week.
Neoprene seat covers like Wet Okole have the "sticky" side towards the seat. The part towards your body is fabric. You slide around just fine. They're a stretch fit so there's no way I'd plan on installing/removing them on a regular basis. Assuming the problem is on the seat (as opposed to...
Mini USB, not regular USB. That means you can't just plug in your thumb drive. Nothing uses mini USB anymore. It wasn't even popular when it came out. Seems trivial but that alone would make me wonder about the quality.
It says, "Can be used indoors or other fixed station applications.". No idea what this antenna is for (HAM?) or if you're just looking for something to fill the hole.
Makes me think I don't want to bother with a Tahoe/Yukon. I spent the last 2 hours reading various thread/sites about the problematic Castech heads. I doubt anyone selling a truck is going to let me pull both valve covers and rocker arms just to see if those heads are on the truck and I sure...
That was my original intent but finding one is proving a bit difficult so I thought I'd include the land yachts in my search. I like the look of all 4 (Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban/YukonXL) so it doesn't really matter to me which I get. I live in a rural/suburban area so the extra size of the 'Burb/XL...
Thanks, guys.
Red Rider --- I live in the country and used to drive a semi truck. Even a Suburban is small. I could drive a 747 plane down the road. :)
dantheman --- I only get 16-17 with my current Blazer. Anything above that is just a bonus.
clandr1 --- I can see your point about more...
Since it's on the back axle, I'm guessing the improvement in braking would be minimal at best. Unless the stock drum brakes are less than worthless and the new(er) disc brakes are superb (like a good Wilwood setup), you might not even notice the difference. A lot of the Jeep'ers swap out their...
I'm not seeing a lot of Tahoe/Yukons right now. No big deal as my Blazer runs well but still.... I've kept away from including the luxury models in my search for 2 reasons. First, I think they're overpriced for what I want. I couldn't care less about impressing the neighbors although I AM...
I can't afford an NNBS. I'm looking for an NBS. If the 'Burb and the Yukon XL are the same on the outside, how can one look more masculine than the other? Sorry but the Denali doesn't impress me. I probably wouldn't even consider one as I'm not trying to impress the neighbors (just myself)...
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think the 2 stock remotes are different colors (black and gray) to differentiate between Driver 1 and Driver 2. I don't know how aftermarket remotes would differentiate between the 2.
