Just echoing Doubleieve here - they plug in direct and have a resistor on the harness to prevent Hyperflashing. Very very easy to install, takes about 20 minutes or so.
Thanks! They do look OEM, small fitment issues on my passenger side but nothing too major once I played with them. These ones are brighter than the other knock-offs out there, but have a more "beaded" look when lit up. My favorite mod to the vehicle so far, they are AKKON brand and you can...
Thanks for the comments guys! I am working on getting the GMC decals printed for the blank center caps as you mentioned, I had to custom order chrome vinyl as no one carried it. I'll post pics when complete! Here's another pic from this weekend with my new tails on:
I just did the same (W4400NEX), works amazing! What dash surround kit did you use? I used the Metra kit w/ soft touch (matches the a/c control panel texture perfectly), with some careful adjustment it doesn't snag the faceplate:
Just to close the loop here - I got it off when a small flathead screwdriver (eyeglass tool/size) prying from the edge of the logo. The factory one is attached with adhesive.
Hey guys, just wanted to post some comparison pics of two different sets of ebay Escalade lights. The first set (driver side) seem brighter in the daylight, but are more "dotted" in design versus the smooth "neon tube" of the second pair (passenger side). Also the first set, or drivers side in...
How’d you manage to get the old logo off? Can you describe how you did? I’ve tried prying mine off but it doesn’t want to budge. Also tried heating it but stopped because I didn’t want to warp the plastic. Still didn’t seem to make much of a difference?
Has anyone been able to remove the Cadillac symbol/logo from the factory FOB? I got a new esky FOB and have some GMC logos I want to put in it's place but I can't see how to get the old logo off without marring up the FOB case.
I got it all setup - hats of to Idatalink they are very responsive and knowledgeable. Pioneer just won't work with them to fix the rear seat entertainment controls (and some other items that could improve the pairing of the two), so the controls only work to change the main source of the head...
Thanks for the info! Do I heat it to remove it, or does it come off another way? I was heating it with a heat gun and it wasn't budging and I didn't want to warp the remote plastic somehow.
How was everyone putting these over the old emblem? Did you heat up the old logo and remove it or just stick it over the Escalade logo that is on the FOB? I bought some a few years ago and just now getting around to putting them on.
I just bought and installed a W4400NEX Pioneer receiver, using the Idatalink Maestro RR and GM5+ & AVGM5 harnesses. My issue is the rear seat entertainment system does not go dual zone and the controls won't change the rear source only like they did with the factory radio. I called Idatalink...
Thanks for hte reply! Yeah I found those late last night after digging. I'd prefer a molded set but if at worst that could definitely work. I guess I'd have to get a decal made? Modled would be best so the logo would be in chrome and sort of match the wheels, but beggars can't be choosers!
Hey guys,
I bought some a set of new takes offs of the newer 22 7 spoke Escalade wheel. The problem I have is the center cap is the larger 7 3/4 inch style and I can't seem to find any GMC branded chrome caps to swap since they are are on my 2007 Yukon XL Denali.
I've seen some folks here...

You can also put on the premium K&N Oil filter that has a small nut on the bottom that allows you to easily remove it. They aren't cheap at around $15 but for how easy they are to remove they are well worth it!
No prob! Remember if you do the oil pump itself then you have to also take off the water pump, front timing cover, etc and it will become much more labor intense. I'd honestly swap the o-ring first and see if that fixes it and start car back up after you put on new pan but wait to put anything...
Doing it yourself? Depends on how efficient and experienced you are. I'd say prob 5 hours of work start to finish (it took me about 6 because i'm slow and meticulous), hardest part was getting front diff in and out since I was on jack stands, I used a small transmission jack to put it back in...
