I got one of those. It was something like $11k off sticker with the Costco card.
Expensive? For SURE! If you want something that size there aren’t a lot of other options.
That makes a lot of sense and it’s basically the concept I was trying to get at with my (incorrect) weight distribution statement above. In any event, I’m pleased with the increased braking performance with the GM kit.
One of my pet peeves is never being able to find anything on the lot that doesn’t have an all black interior, especially in silver. I’m just not a fan of that much black. It’s like an emo middle schooler designed it. ;)
We had two silver Suburbans with black inside before I special ordered a...
Yes, only the front. Given the front/rear weight distribution of the Suburban the rears don’t do all that much.
I think they were about $3000 after installation. I also did the exhaust and front air deflector at the same time and it was about $5000 all together.
Yeah, rated range is like EPA fuel economy numbers...
That said, the car does a good job of giving the information needed to avoid running out (which I’ve never had happen). I drove one to Las Vegas once and it handled the heat with no issues. I will say, there are a ton of Teslas in...
It’s really odd how a thread about improving power in a RST Performance Tahoe turned into a Tesla bashing thread. I’ve really liked all three Tesla’s we’ve owned (we still have two of them). I also really liked our Suburbans and Yukon (again, still have a Suburban). They’re good at different...
Same part number. I ordered mine for my 2019 through the dealership because GM parts direct wanted $200+ for shipping. Price was almost a wash. I had the dealer put it on while they were doing the performance brakes.
That’s a use case that definitely calls for a pickup if you’re doing it regularly. I mean, if you put in during the spring/summer and left it in until you were done for the season you could get away with a Tahoe with max tow. If it were an every weekend kind of trip I’d want a more dedicated tow...
It’ll be great. The RST has (I think) the same air bag leveling that the Denali gets. Does a good job of load leveling. If you use weight distribution, I’d get that set up and then turn the truck on and let the airbags work.
GM Performance/Brembo kit just installed by dealer. Massively better stopping power.
Only gripe is that the Adaptive Cruise isn’t as smooth when slowing down.
Just did the GM Performance cat-back system on my 2019 Suburban 6.2. Cruising at 70 there’s little to no difference from the factory system. Punch it and you’ll enjoy the music.
I’m sure it’s my imagination but it feels more powerful. Probably just an overall sensory thing. Anyway, highly...
Eugene, Oregon. I think we may have a similar mix. There are folks who have so much they wouldn’t dream of showing off, sometimes that means driving a 20 year old Volvo station wagon. I don’t see a ton of Escalades but that’s probably for the same reason I don’t see a lot of Denalis. Overlaying...
I increase distance on dry pavement with the studded snow tires but that’s because the studs don’t stop as well as regular tires on dry pavement.
Generally I’m saying that good snow tires are step one and increasing space/decreasing speed is step two for safe snow driving.
I’d say pretentious is not quite right but it’s on the correct track. The Denali has a certain gaudiness/flashiness about it (IMO) that makes folks around here look at you a little bit different. No one gives the Suburban a second look even though it’s the same damn thing. The really odd thing...
I was just looking online for the hell of it one night and saw that a dealer in the area already had the exact config I wanted on the way. I went and gave them a deposit the next day.
Did your dealer maybe have inadequate allocation or something?
I run Nokian Hakka LT2 studded on our Suburban. We take it skiing every weekend it’s a couple hundred miles round trip, about half of which is in snow/ice most of the time. They’re fantastic tires.
Anyone who expects to drive in snow/ice on a regular basis should absolutely ditch the...
I got one. It’s exactly a Denali XL in a Suburban costume... which is why I like it. The $11,000 off msrp with Costco was also pretty rad.
I had a 2015 Denali XL so the big difference for me was 8 speed to 10 speed transmission. It’s a really nice upgrade to say the least. The 10 speed is much...
Anyone with the Wilwood kit have an idea what the smallest wheel is that’ll fit? I’ve got studded snow tires on 17” OE Denali wheels from an older body style.
