    issue with my suspension

Installed lowering keys. While I was there, swapped torsion bars from side-to-side and reversed the ends. Took it for a 15 mile test drive on very bumpy/uneven roads and from fender lip to center hub the measurements are nearly identical with the passenger side being 17.5" and the driver side...

    Lowered with 33.5 inch tires

Just installed lowering keys and took it for a long test drive. Massive negative camber in the front! Rubbing at full lock: Even with the rubbing I love it lowered!!! I plan to get smaller tires 275's or 285's instead of hacking more of the truck or maybe not......:superhack:

    issue with my suspension

I have the same issue. My driver side torsion key bolt is almost all the way in while the passenger side is barely threaded. This happened when i had lift keys and was even worse when i recently installed stock keys. I contribute this to weak torsion bar on the driver side, just a guess though...

    Lowered with 33.5 inch tires

Thanks! Although, I can see where you would be biased haha I installed shock extenders and trimmed the bumpstops. The rear feels solid even though I'm dealing with this..... I'm not too concerned with the end links as of yet but if anyone has good suggestion as to replacement end links, I'm...

    Lowered with 33.5 inch tires

Dang you musta been hitting some serious jumps lol! I just installed the springs only, no sway bar end links, no shock relocation bracket and i don't see any issues in the rear but i should take a closer look at the passenger side. The ride is bouncy going over bumps because i didn't trim the...

    Lowered with 33.5 inch tires

Ooops meant 33.5 inch tires..... Just finished lowering the rear with just 3" drop coils from a NNBS. The wheel gap in the rear, from fender lip to top of tire, was roughly 7". After the drop it is 2". No rubs anywhere in the rear.....just took it around the block though. Tackling the front...

35 inch tires on leveling kit

I had 315/70/17 on 9 inch wide rim with keys and 1.5" spacers. I actually had those tires installed with stock keys. Just had to trim where it rubbed in the front bumper and fenders. It wasn't anything major, like making 33's fit on a XJ with no lift. Never rubbed since adding the keys. I also...

    Keys, spacers, 295/70/17

This is what it looks like currently. Stock keys, stock Z71 (1 year old) springs: Does not rub anywhere, but I did trim the front when i had 315's installed. Been driving like this for 2 weeks and the handling is million times better. Plan is to see how low i can go with the same size tire...

    Where to buy torsion bars...

Here is a couple links discussing torsion bars... http://z71tahoe-suburban.com/iboard/lofiversion/index.php?t38434.html http://z71tahoe-suburban.com/iboard/lofiversion/index.php?t37584.html GMPartsDirect.com had the XM bars for $248 each shipped to Cali.

    Torsion bar cross member bushings

p/n: 20829013. GM Parts Direct.com Took me awhile to figure out how to get the bushing out, even longer to think of a plan for the install tool. NOTE: this tool setup will get the bushing installed 95% of the way. I had to use a 2nd cup from my Harbor Freight ball joint kit to finish the...

Torsion bar and upper control arm questions

in your case i would not bother with Cognito control arms. Definitely fix that bushing issue before spending the dough. Is your missing compression bushing also known as the bushing that supposed to touch the lower control arm? The Jounce stop/spring? Alligator Performance had the...

    Tahoe swaying after leveling

i installed that rectangle tubing after reading this post and good god does it handle better! Towed a loaded trailer with the interior of the Escalade loaded up 850 miles, still had bald tires but wow did the vehicle handle 1million times better!!! no nose dive when braking and reduced the...

Torsion bar and upper control arm questions

Can't really tell any difference with the Cognito arms compared to stock. I have not got around to getting an alignment but i suspect the Cognito's would help in that aspect only. But For $470 for a bolt-in/beefier ball joint i dunno, there has got to be cheaper options to get alignment right...

    Fun with Coilovers

Did you guys find a coil over spring and shock for a lift? Don't know if i'm in the ball park but i could not find long enough springs with enough spring rate. I saw the lowered tahoe coilover guys use 1250lb springs. So i tried looking for taller springs for the coilover lift and the highest...

    Tahoe swaying after leveling

Yeah i don't know what i was looking at. I think i just saw a "2" somewhere on the screen and got excited. Extending the cup instead of finding a longer stop sounds like a choice idea.

    Tahoe swaying after leveling

I apologize, i was hoping these would be the final answer to our problems, but then i looked at the instructions and remembered these are extended bumpstops for an H3 Hummer. And looking at this pic the stock H3 bumpstops appear to be shorter than a Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade one. But there is hope...

    Tahoe swaying after leveling

Well got the extended bumpstops installed after waiting 2 weeks for delivery without Trail Duty saying anything to me about it. Went for a 10 minute test drive and the results were not that impressive. It soaks up the road 10x better than before, but still does not feel solid, I realize this...

    Tahoe swaying after leveling

i stumbled across these extended jounce stops for the Hummer H3. Looks like it'll fit? http://www.hummerforums.com/forum/hummer-h3-17/trail-duty-bump-stops-26559/ http://www.clubhummeroffroad.com/forums/showthread.php/62-Bump-Stops-or-Progressive-Dampeners-H3-H3T-Front-Suspension...

Torsion bar and upper control arm questions

Everything settled in the suspension and i am comfortable with the height and angles. It is still cranked but the angles are not as ridiculous as before. I am looking into progressive rate bump stops but they are either too long or too short. So i had a thought about bolting a poly bump stop...

    Tahoe swaying after leveling

i cut the droop stops and the ride only improved a little bit. Before the truck would dip hard/bounce/sway going over bumps or just driving down the road. Cutting the droops stops solved that issue to a point..... The new focus i feel is the lower bump stop, i'm researching solutions to get the...

    Tahoe swaying after leveling

should just replace em anyway. I got an 04 Escalade and i have the welded bracket, molded in bushings. Took me a while on the intronet to find the replacement. p/n: 20829013. *update* Just finished replacing the bushings and nothing really changed, still bad ride. Then i noticed that...

    Tahoe swaying after leveling

Highlighted is where the upper control arm can hit the droop stop. Passenger side. This is on a NNBS but i would cut the droop stop the same way. Before. After. I did not cut my droop stops off yet. I am waiting till i replace the torsion bar cross member bushings, then i will see if...

Torsion bar and upper control arm questions

i was looking at Timbren at $200 im not to keen on them. I was looking at extended bump stops last night. I will prob get some poly ones but first i will have to measure. I read too that the lower bump stop, jounce thing, is supposed to be "kissing" the lower control arm so i think an extended...
