    Octane and fuel economy have no correlation. 87 octane isn't worse for the trucks and paying for higher is basically a waste of money. The only times I get higher octane is when the car requires it due to a high compression engine.

    So I drove my x5 tonight and my long term mpg is 19.9 (and it's rated for 19 city) so assuming I drive similar on the two. I would expect 16mpg. I'm getting the mpg equivalent to using e85. I wonder if the cup somehow thinks I'm Using e85 and is adjusting performance. Sent from my iPhone...
