    I have. I think I might be able to handle something like a transfer case rebuild- but rebuilding a transmission looks kind of intimidating! I don't have any prior skill for that- yet.

    Hey all, I think I can drop the transmission myself- and get it to a shop. I'm wondering who is reputable in Phoenix for rebuilds, and how much am I looking at if I bring the transmission in to them for a rebuild? I'll throw it back in myself. (Just an average?) Thanks!

    So I think I got it going- the video was a good reference. Thanks! I put it back together and fill it with antifreeze, and it starts to leak out. I'm like.. I know I put the drain plug in... And I did. It's still leaking out. So I'm looking and I can't find anything. I take the radiator out...

    Thanks- that may not be it though. I can add to this story. Apparently it only happens when the trailer is connected to the truck. I attached the trailer to another truck and it worked perfectly.. Maybe looking at a relay?

    Hey guys, Weirdest thing. Blinkers (either way) kill cruise, and if my lights are on, blinkers only blink once and then stay on. If they're off, they function as intended. Where do you start with that?? Thanks in advance!!

    Thanks for the reply. It was actually a lot easier than I thought. I jacked up the truck and used a socket wrench on the torsion bolts and loosened them until they came out. (Spray painted them first so I could tell how far they were in) and when I removed the LCA, the just slid out. It was...

    In the event that there is a hole, and I need to get a new case, do they make a rear case that accounts for this? Or do you still have to buy a new rear case and another solution?

    That's definitely something I'm going to investigate when I split it open. At this point I know I'm replacing the rear output shaft bearings and seal- but I might need a whole new rebuild kit depending on what I find. I know I'm ok to replace those 2 parts, but an entire kit.. might do it, might...

    207k. It's in fairly good condition- we had a rebuilt motor put in about 30k ago. The transfer case needs some love- it has a horrible clicking sound when the rear driveshaft turns. I'm hoping when I get it put back together the 4wd engages.

    I had to look for it. There's a small round tag on the other side- turns out I have a GM246. And.. all weekend to try and fix it.

    Hey all, So the front end was done. All of it. Now it's time to drop the transfer case and change the rear output bearings and the seals. There isn't a tag- but I called the dealer and he said by the VIN, I have a NP8. Is that a 246?

    I actually just saw a video on this. It's 20 bucks and an hour of time to replace the seal.
