    Another p0300 mystery...

Sorry for all of you who took the time to come up with tips about the problem, for not responding. I have been working all week and came home yesterday. I have been talking to my sons boss and he is going to take over the car. He needs the engine for some sort of project (I think an old 50-60’s...

    Another p0300 mystery...

Since these symptoms have become gradually worse over time, I think it could just be the cats, but we have not noticed any ”glowing in the dark” under the hood.

    Another p0300 mystery...

Yes, but it had the exact same symptoms before I replaced it (just another fuck up moneywise, so to say). We have also checked possible airleaks around the intake with what I believe was brakecleaner. No change in rpm. My son is pretty good with fixing cars and pinpointing problems in all kinds...

I will be working the whole week and can’t get to my car, so ”to be continued”.

    Another p0300 mystery...

Yup. That’s What I thought too. I changed that one today with a new one. First I forgot to put the connector back on the maf. Started driving at slow speeds, no or light load. Even after it got into close loop, I never got a single misfire, no ses light on, no codes present, nothing. But it...

    Another p0300 mystery...

Just a number. I read somewhere this should be around 128. I will check the autoxray to see what it was exactly. Also forgot to mention that I did check FP engine on and off. Ignition on: 55-60, engine started, pretty much the same, engine shut off it would drop to 0 within 45 minutes.

    Another p0300 mystery...

Hello all. I have been member for quite some time, but never really needed help with anything serious. Until now of course. Situation: 2002 Yukon XL, 5.3 flex fuel, trouble code p0300, sometimes another p03xx. Replaced stuff: Plugs, wires, coils, injectors, maf, both front o2 sensors. Symptom...

    Gas mileage?

Will test this when I can. Thanks for now. As mentioned, one wire looks suspicious, the wires to the number 1 coil are not the way they should.

    Gas mileage?

Hello again. I have had an auto X ray 6000 connected to see what is happening while driving. This alcohol sensor thing must be working, since the reading for af ratio changed almost instantly when I changed fuel E85 to 95 octane just a few days ago. I did find a wire to the cylinder 1 coil to be...

    Gas mileage?

Alcohol content sensor... That was a new one. Never heard of it before. It doesn't have a muffler anymore. Cats still original I guess. It has no problem revving up to 4-5k and for a 2,600 kg car, it really keeps up with the rest of the traffic, no problems there. I still have to find a place...

    Gas mileage?

Hello. I am having a similar problem with my 2002 Yukon XL. When I bought it a couple of years ago, I got about 18 (US gallons here) mpg on the way home. Gradually it became worse and about a few weeks ago it started stumbling and running rough cold and warm. Replaced the fuel pressure regulator...

Bizarre engine shutoff only while turning left

Hello everybody. I just read this thread and can give my findings on the same problem. For about a year or more, I have had the security light coming on randomly. Nothing else happened, no sudden shut down, no codes, nothing. Just the light. Thinking it was a door that didn't close enough so it...

    abs brake mod repair

No idea either of how to embed a post, but can´t you have it checked somewhere by one who has a scanner like the OTC 9450 or similar that can read ABS and airbag codes. I bought this OTC 9450 and it works, I got one code C0265 wich can cause your brake/park and ABS and or traction light to turn...

    bad gas mileage

Programmed with diablo intune (why? Easier and cheaper here in Sweden, a bit too expensive to let someone from Oregon come over and fix a tune :) ), the first of the three (performance i think). No gain at all, no codes checked either. The only code I have right now is C0265, ABS EBCM circuit...

    General disussion between 87 & 89 Ethanol

Mine doesn't show the flex badge. Number 8 vin is Z. Since it is a 2002 year model, it's no problem to use E85/ethanol. It even says ethanol or gas on the inside of the fuel cap door. I have used it for some time now without any problems. Plus side is that it's a little cheaper if you take in...

    bad gas mileage

If I drive it for say 6500 miles per year, it will be cheaper, but not by much, on E85. Wow, that will be 425 USD per year. Wich is about the yearly roadtax we pay for a car like this. So, in a nutshell, use E85=free roadtax, or christmas gifts, or two new tires, at least here in Sweden. :party33:

    bad gas mileage

    95 RON = 7.78 USD per gallon (US). E85 = 5.64 USD per gallon (US). 13-16 MPG.

    bad gas mileage

Prices are steep here in Europe, that´s why I don´t use it for DD to work. More when we drive a little longer on holidays. I can´t really feel a difference when using E85, seems like it´s a little slower in response. Just changed the programming with a Diablo intune. Will see how that turns out...

What Octane grade are you running?

Was this to me? If so, what bridge? And why, why, why, why... :party33:

    bad gas mileage

Yeah, pretty much. I don´t want to step on toes, it´s just that many owners just have a 2wd. No wonder you will see higher MPG numbers. But yours seem pretty good. Better than mine here in Europe. The distances are shorter here as well. You guys are used to drive long distances without traffic...

What Octane grade are you running?

95, 98 or E85, 2002 Z vin... At the cost of; 8.50 usd for 95 8.80 usd for 98 6.05 usd for E85 Oh yeah, I´m in Sweden, Europe. :elephant:

    General disussion between 87 & 89 Ethanol

It´s so easy to check if you "can" put in ethanol. Check your vin. I have a 2002 Z, so I can put in E85 (same stuff, other name).

    bad gas mileage

And for all the MPG´s... Do all of you have 4x4 or just 2wd??? No one with those fantastic numbers says what they are driving. I´m in Sweden, and on the lower side, I drive a 4x4 XL.
